EOG stands for Enron Oil Group, an off shoot of the old Enron Energy Company that screwed tens of thousands of Americans out of their life savings a few years ago. I won't go any further with my thoughts of the current Enron group.

what or who is EOG?

E O G is an energy (oil and gas) out of Houston. I think the Texan was on a gate at a site that was being worked by E O G (sorta like working for them). I'll let the Texan straighten it out, though.

EOG= EOG Resources; prior to '99 it was Enron Oil and Gas They split from Enron in 1999, well before the blow up. They are well regarded up north here in the Barnett Shale. We have spent 10 of the last 11 months with them. Spent a month on a Chesapeake gate and got back with EOG just recently. I much prefer them over Chesapeake

How is the GG in ND? Pay the same? Would like to do it in the summer but not in the winter, even though this winter has been an "open" one up there.

I understand that GGS is looking for a couple of new gates in the Midland and Odessa areas. If interested PM me.

Figure our gate for 2012 will speed up as it ended the year very quiet.

Did my laundry yesterday so started the NEW YEAR Clean!!! LOL

I don't know about this year with EOG here on the Eagle Ford shale, but last year the regional Company man was not one I would work for again, ever. There is a new regional Company man this year and I understand things are better, but the taste left in my mouth last year is enough for us to say NO to any EOG gate here in the south. Up north on the Barnett shale, it sounds like they have a good Company man, so things are different. I'll give any company a decent chance, but our home has wheels for a reason and mis-treatment of me or my wife, is not conducive to my speaking good words of them, or staying on a gate.

You are not the only one I have heard that from Bob. I would react the same. I don't tolerate rude behavior from any man.

Well Dec of 2011 was very slow, 2 or 3 entering the gate per day, 2012 looks like we will be busy for a while, fracing crew coming in said they will take 4 to 5 days then be out. Our drill crew will not be back till the last of February. We do have a crew of 4 or 5 coming in to lay a pipeline, said they will be here for 2 months. All in All I guess 2012 don't look all that bad.

I thought I had cut and ready to paste part of your post. Well, anyway, the good thing about pipeline crews I have found is they are only in for 12 hour or less and day only. Is that the xperience others have had?

We moved to our new gate Sun..Love it, 4 mi down a dead-end road. We were expecting no traffic because the rig is not here yet. This morning at 1:15, the bell rings and I thought..what?? ..Went outside and it was a tanker and I knew for sure he wasn't supposed to be here. He was lost!! I guess if we had not been here and the gate was locked, he would have had to back up for 4 mi, because the road is too narrow to turn around.
