We have been here since April 2013, the yards have been full all winter. A GGS has picked up several gate according to the service man.
Last summer most of the folks stayed all summer. It has been a brutal winter. Cold again 49 for a high 31 when we got up this morning.
But I did see the biggest bobcat I have ever seen yesterday

my wife and I are looking into gate guarding as a means to go full time.
I was wondering do the oil co's hire their own guards, or is that a security company exclusive?
This thread has a lot of good information and if you do a internet search, some security company's can be located. Thanks, sportzfann

Well after sitting on the BHP gate for 1 year and 2 1/2 months they finally released us. We went back to the yard and GGS wanted to put us back out immediately. We wanted a couple of days to just relax so We are going back out on Friday. They really need help bad. We got a pay raise and have to wear their shirts but at least they are short sleeve cotton and not real heavy. I have had 3 different companies call me for guarding this week. They are all needing help bad.
