Yes, since you don't want to read and learn, it is just you sit and watch a gate to make sure it doesn't move. They pay big money for that. Good luck

Try D.A.D.S 210-844-7393 and D&G Enterprise 817-291-2737 Don't know if they have a gate, but get your name out there

Right now, things are extremely slow in the energy field, due to several reasons. Not many if any new gates opening and even some old gates being closed. That along with the influx of returning winter Texans is going to make for some long waits this fall. The lease we are on was supposed to be opening 3 new gates this winter, instead they just stacked the rig and went to a wait and see mode for at least 90 days. Not going to be a good winter to start out as a gate guard.

What the news? Whats the reason?

People are still stacked and waiting at every yard and for every company. There have been a couple new pipeline gates this last week, but no new drilling gates, that I am aware of. why?, that has many answers from the companies, and all are plausible. However, the most common answer is the "new" EPA permit regulations are the major culprit, along with the end of the fiscal year.

This is not the year to be looking to get into the business. People returning that are already licensed and have experience, are given priority over any newbie without a license or experience. If one really wants to get into a GG job, then my suggestion is wait till next April and take one of the snowbird gates and work through the summer. That is when the companies will be looking for help and willing to take unlicensed, inexperienced folks.

Any couple or single that is in the Pearsall/Pleasanton Texas area, licensed and ready to start work right now, PM me. These are 10 hour pipeline gates suitable for singles as you are free to roam after the gate closes daily. Pay is only $25/day less than the major company offers for a couple, on a 24/7 gate.

I would call ahead and make sure a gate is available. Rumor has it that things might pick up after New Years.
