You can work as long as you want, leave then come back to work. It just depends on whether there are gate available. We have never had to wait on a gate. Maybe we have just been lucky or our timing is good. Anyway, go to the website guard1services.com there you can fill out an online application. You will also need to pay to take an online test for Texas security license. Word of warning-- the job is not for everyone. There are rattlesnakes, various wildlife, illegal aliens (very rarely), and dust to deal with. But you can make a good amount of money in a short amount of time compared to the amount of physical labor. Very easy job. Hope this helps.

You need to contact the gate guard companies directly. Each one has a system of how & where they test and hire. They'll get you licensed but your license will belong to you and you can later go to any company.

OOPS. So here it is again for this part of the forum. Forgive me...haven't been on here in a while.

Sitewatch is hiring Gate Guards in South Texas. Singles or couples. 12 or 24 hour gates. Full or Part time. Long and short term gates available. Must be able to pass background check. Apply at www.swgateguards.com or call/text 903-520-0510 for further details. This is a very good company we have worked with for past 6 years, seasonally.
