Well I tried to post them for you, but it didn't work for me either. The pics are pretty good, and while you have some work ahead of you, it looks like a fairly complete unit. Good luck! Looks like the propane door and water heater door are missing . The propane door is curved and may be hard to duplicate if not available . Check the wood wings carefully for rot and the floor at the door . It's been neglected but not all dented up , from the limited pictures a worthy project . Good luck and welcome .

I have the propane compartment door, but not the water heater door. Looks like the reason this camper sat was because of a water problem. The water heater is half removed and the water tank is gone. You can see where the water tank leaked all over the floor. The floor is badly warped and very spongy. I plan to replace the floor and remove the cabinets to repair and refinish them. Camper wiring has been butchered and modified a number of times so I will rewire it. I have a dozen cut wires hanging around. The roof swamp cooler had an extension cord hanging down from it to bypass the built in wiring. I have a couple of skins to hammer on and a couple more to outright replace. I figure I bought a shell with a few extras. |

It looks like a decent shell to work with. I wonder what caused the black marks on top. The water heater door can be purchased from Airstream to go with the new water heater that you will need to buy. It sounds like the hardest part is to make the floor solid. Since they are 3/8" plywood sandwiched around a styrofoam insides, that seems to be the most difficult. I don't see any major dents. I did notice that you didn't have anywhere near the amount of sun rot that I had. Your exterior lights are still intact. Ford F-350 4x4 Diesel 1988 Avion Triple Axle Trailer 1969 Avion C-11 Camper |

This is the camper as loaded on the trailer for its trip to Idaho. http://img818.imageshack.us/img818/6571/photo2rj.jpg You can see the corner skin over the cabover is badly dented. This was caused by a large road sign blowing over against it. There was also an access hatch cut in the vertical tub wall to gain access to the wheel well. I think I will just clean that hole up and leave it. |

Yours is a C-10, but do you have any idea of the year? What is the serial number on you small rear rectangular tag? With your water fill not on the side, but up around on the front, you may have a later C-10. Is the inside aluminum painted? Or is is a type of Vinyl coating? Or can you tell? If it is painted it is Pre-1967, and I was told by Mr. Cayo the son of the original family of Avions. He said 1967 they went to Vinyl coated interiors. Everything before that was painted. I have only seen the water fill on the front on 68 and later C-10's but Mr. Cayo says that the placement of the fill was a moving target across most years. The size of the door on the Propane Compartment can offer a clue as to the year as well. Good Luck! And Good Find!! Garry in Kodiak, AK |

What caused all the black marks up top? |
