Topic: Avion truck campers - Hundreds of photos

A question for the Avion community. I have yet to really do anything with my camper I have a few projects ahead of it. But I did hook it up to shore power and installed a battery to see what works. Every 12 volt light worked along with fans. The 110volt items also worked. Now the question, there is a florescent light fixture on the ceiling near the AC. It did not work it's the only thing that doesn't. I popped the cover off and wiggled the bulbs but that did not help. It probably say's it on the bulbs but is that a 12volt or 110 light fixture ? Camper is a 1968 C11. If it's 12 volt I'll replace with a LED light fixture. Any help is appreciated.

My 1969 Avion had a 12 volt fixture up there. I changed it out with a LED fixture. Keep in mind, that light is also controlled with a rear toggle switch over the door.

Much better price than I paid. But will the shape conform to the space? I had some careful cutting that had to be done. And that ran up the price.

No reason it won't. I'm going to remove the existing countertop hopefully in one piece so I can use it as a template, I'm mainly concerned about the radius in the corners. Corian can be cut with conventional woodworking tools so no problem there as I have table saws, routers and so on. Once the rough fit is done then just need to cut out for range top and sink. Plan on doing it all myself so this will be a low cost improvement. I just need to figure out how to seam the ends as I'm going to have to do that.

If the dimensions work put the seam in back of the range opening and it will hardly be noticeable .

More than likely it's a 12v fluorescent that the PO replaced the original ceiling fixture with . It may just need a bulb .

Yes I plan to put the seam behind the range, great minds think alike !

I did not realize that one of the switches above the door also controlled the ceiling light fixture. Thanks for the heads up.

My 1969 Avion C-11 has two switches over the door. The one on the right side of the camper controlled the center light and the left switch controlled the outside porch light. I moved my switches around so that the right switch controls the porch light which is right of the door. It makes more sense to me that way.

That didn't seem to work. How do I put a pic right in the post?
