I took the top part off months ago and I have it in storage. I can get some pictures. The vertical shaft had a couple of plastic bushings that rotted in the AZ sun a long time ago. Actually, there were pieces left when I started this rebuild, but there wasn't enough to tell what they were. I am going to have two new ones machined out of brass. I really don't plan on using the antenna. I like your idea of using it as a flag pole.

You might want to machine them out of aluminum since that is what the tubes are made of . Mine are pretty much gone also , for now there are some band clamps around the plastic to hold them together .

Thats not a bad idea. I will probably use which one is available at a reasonable price. I don't have a lathe, so I can't do it myself.

Once I dig it out of storage, I will post pics of the antenna.
Here are some pictures of my stabilzer jacks. I made mounts that keep them high so that I don't lose ground clearance.

Maoist of the structural changes (ie floor and tub) were done when I bought my C10. But my wet, ready to camp weight is around 2500 to 2600 lbs. It seams heavy for a C10, but it is heavy duty now, and survived the Denali Highway, so I'm not complaining,just curious after 40+ years of changes, how light or heavy are the other Avions?
