Sorry for the late update but I have been busy as heck lately. Last weekend I finished polishing under the wings to get ready to lower the beast so that we can polish the top and finish the windows. We also deanodized all the way around the window and cleaned up what was left of the old sealer. I got all the seals in the mail this week so that we will be able to finish the window this coming weekend. We also built a new lower stand! I have hated the old rickety one we got from the PO for a long time. The new one is a copy of one someone did on the Truck Camper University (http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/24581263.cfm). It is very sturdy and a bit heavy. I am not sure I would be able to move it by myself without wheels on it. I will probably build another higher stand at some point to make it easier to get on and off the truck and will need a lighter more maneuverable solution. I will keep this new short one for working/cleaning/polishing the roof in the future. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Happy Camping! Avioncamper.wordpress.com ![]() |

Awesome project you have going on there. I spent twenty some years in aviation maintenance and would love to find one of these. The look of it cannot be replicated and the work you have done is incredible. My virtual hat is off to you for your work. Please keep posting any updates and thanks for sharing.

Wow, just incredible-I can’t stop staring at it. ![]() Really appreciate the work you folks are putting into these old campers and the real work restoring but the lights are just amazing. Eye candy...Makes me wanna go out and skin my filon box. I’ve been wanting to do something similar to replace lights but it sure wouldn’t look like this. I haven't stopped in for a while. Luckily, our construction/housing business is going full steam. But, What a job you're doing.I'll bet you're on the road before we get old 67 Avion running. Congrats.

As I am new to this forum I will keep my posts short and close to my heart. I am truly sorrowfull for your loss/salvage of 1 of the best built "IMHO" truck bed campers. They were built to last. I'd venture to say your C11 can be bought back to like new condition with time and patience. I have seen elsewhere, probaly on the Avion forum where some folks have did a complete gut-job-reserection of those old silver campers. Ya just have to love what you do to acheive it. Best wishes, glad your safe and wern't hurt. Yours truly ricky tarpein-sublette ks. usa
