Howdy! Yall I also need to add that I concede the three jack system might be abit wobbly. I retired those babies even as I brought the camper home. I have it on a stable lift, but its attached only to the wings. It is still indeed sturdy though! |

I cant speak to factory, as mine was already modified when i brought it home. The previous owner replaced the three jacks with four new Reico-titan 2000lb jacks. Even when lowered to the lowest point on the jacks, my camper is rather wobly, and I do not go in there unlees I have to... That is why I have 4 vintage aluminum RV trailer type jack stands, that I made a 4x6 cross support that all fits in the fender wells of the bed while the TC is loaded, but if I remove it on the road, they are there to set the TC down, and stabilize everything. We have actually stayed at various places this way to site-see and use the truck, while not lugging the TC around. Another caviot that I need to add, is that my floor was redone with 2x4;s on edge, then a piece of 3/4 plywood for the floor. This has allowed my to place an aluminum 14 gallon grey water tank in the void under the water tank on the drivers side, and room for a second one on the passengers side. I hope to add blue-board insulation in the cavitiys of the floor once all the plumbing is compete... Hope that this all helps! Garry in Kodiak Garry K Wife + 4 kids Retired Military Family.... Thanks everyone , great discussion . Learning a lot Since one of my Rieco Titan HD stands broke, the cain came off one of the feet due to rust. i am considering the options 1 buy a set of new ones 2 rebuild/weld the ones that i have or look into the stable lift system , which adds greatly to the costs |

There is something about the downright practicality of the SLs that is appealing in the context of a classic coach like the Avion. My only concern would be the issues that might be encountered in rough, brushy, terrain....though I managed to ding my belly bar on a rock outcropping in Utah. So, there is little difference with my current set up. I'm trying to remember which of the Avionistas has a Stablelift. Is it Ticki? |

I also have a SL on my 1968 C11. I was VERY lucky to find a used one in dually width for $400.00 !!!!! Yes I stole it and it works great. It is effortless to raise/lower the camper and solid as a rock. I have yet to actually take it out as I am doing a restoration that started when I got it home. And the SL was added after I got it home. I'm OK with it looking like I ran over a swing set it is uber stable/strong and the safest lift for myself and family.

Funniest thing that i have heard all day but so true I actually found one in Idaho for $ 600....just to far away from me otherwise i would be on the road now Meanwhile wiring is shaping up and the old chimney/ furnace exhaust is out Onward |

Thought you Avion guys might like this old pic I ran across. I used to run into this guy fairly often when we used to fish Ocracoke, NC a lot.

Looks like a funky backporch where you can dress fish or set down your beer cooler.
