Topic: Avion truck campers - Hundreds of photos

If it's factory jacks with the La Jaga jacks and they were on the camper I would make an offer of $1500 and go get it. The way it is, I don't know how you would unload it and reload it.

I've already done one, I know how to do it now. LOL

Just for reference, I bought The Goat for $1200, but I think the Vegas camper is in better condition at least from the pics. [emoticon]

On a happy note....the mechanic buddy is almost done with the electrical. I should be able to go pic up The Goat tomorrow and commence scrubbing her out end to end.

Dave Pete who recently joined the Forum with his restoration of a Travel Queen, wrote to me about the search function on this string. Here is what he said:

"Hi there. I was playing around with search, regarding your comment on "avion black water" bringing up no hits. When I did it, you are right, no hits, but it took me to the advanced search page where I tried it again making a few changes to the default search. I asked it to find posts with "all the words" and "in the body or text of the message". It pulled up your post telling me about the search problem. Then I went further to the Open Roads home page and at the top left where the search feature is, I clicked on the adjacent link called "Advanced Search". Brought me to the same page. I guess this is a long way around telling you I think the forum may have a stronger search capability than you implied. Thought you might find it nice to know."

This thread is awesome. And kudos to all of you posting all this information for others to access. Wow. I am impressed so much, I now want to buy an Avion. I am almost done with our Amerigo Resto. I think an Avion is next. I know. I know. Why do I need a second TC? Well I figure I will just keep restoring rigs til I have 6 extra units... That way each time a child of mine levels home, they can take one with them. That will ensure they keep camping with mom and dad well into the future.

Thanks Wagonqueen,

Even more reason for us to form up a Vintage TC rally. Heh.

Got up this morning at 4AM to load the Avion for the trip to the Mid Atlantic Truck Camper Rally in Virginia. Unfortunately, the weather outlook is a bit of a problem. Maybe we'll find a use for a deck of cards - or snoozing in the rain. Whatever, we're on the road come rain or shine.

Lucky... I was supposed to to that one, but the Amerigo Resto had other ideas. Tell dave, the other Amerigo aficionado, I said hello. Have fun!

HI, ALL.

Long time since we've been on here. Had some bad luck after our initial outing (glad we didn't have far to go). Which brings me to the point of this post. Probably been asked before, but does anyone have a ballpark guess at the weight of a C-10 Slide-in camper? Thought my F-250 should be able to handle it easily, but maybe not. Seems to have warped the rims, or maybe bent the rear axle. Then, tranny started to misbehave, doesn't want to move forward, but drives like a champ in reverse. Hope to work on that problem this week. Considering building the camper onto a modified trailer for towing, if we can't work out the weight problem.

As usual, all help is gratefully appreciated. You guys are the best.

See y'all on the roads, or in the parks.
