Wyo, I put a plug receptacle in the truck bed on the right side. I also put another one on the left side that allows me to have the batteries under the bed and not in the camper. I also put in camper guides and a front stop. See page 54 Ford F-350 4x4 Diesel 1988 Avion Triple Axle Trailer 1969 Avion C-11 Camper |

Wyocuttergirl, welcome! We will be going thru this adventure starting from same point, but will probably end up with wildly different results. I impulsively bought a Cayo truck camper last fall (I've wanted an Airstream trailer since I was a child). Mine is also missing the bottom piece and the black tank so I'm also considering my options for grey and black water tanks. And like you, I am also reading thru the wealth of information in this forum. Due to the weather (I shouldn't complain to people in Wyoming, Alaska etc ... but Toledo, OH was the Weather Channels #1 worst place to spend the 2013-2014 winter), my Truck/TC has been parked at my mechanic's for the past five months. Weather is now improved, and I visited today and can't wait to get started. He has now installed the tie downs so the TC won't fall off the truck. And the TC now has bright (and working) LED lights for safety. And he checked it several times during our record snow and torrential rains and never saw signs of leaks (okay, I understand that I may have to face hidden leaks and they may be more challenging than an obvious water drip). I plan to take the advice offered to you - make it safe, use it, and then start on one issue at a time. |

And a grand welcome to you! This is very encouraging . Remember, we are solidly on your side. You have issues, we've got your back.

If it were not so far away I would buy that right now. It has the bottom tub and outside looks awesome.

From the pictures it looks really clean. With a lot of work and $10,000 you could have a camper that is like new.

I should buy it. It is as old as I am, but in better shape... Just how to get it from there to here (where here is the other side of the globe)? Nice camper! 2014 Ford F350 XLT 6.2 SCLB + 2017 Northstar Arrow

It's in the neighborhood of $10K to $15K, with a lot of elbow grease, and you have a stunning camper. One, incidentally, that may last another 50 years. |
