Hi all. I just finished reading the whole thread. This seems to be the best place for me to be right now being that we're all working on the same stuff. The other forum is kind of dead. Seems we have some former military guys here. I am former air force and my dad, who is working on this with me, is retired Army. Would you all like me to post all my restoration pics to date? Garry, the hole you describe above the breaker box in mine has an outlet in it. That is where I had my AC plugged in. I may go back later and use the wires I found in the ceiling that are supposed to go to the AC. You can kind of see it in the pic attached. Happy Camping! Avioncamper.wordpress.com ![]() |

My C-11 also has an outlet above the breaker box in the closet . The refrigerator plugs into it . Strange place for it .

Looking good, Garry. It's looking like a TC again. Love the reflective insulation. Lots of Airstream restorers are using that stuff too.

Wow, I'd never thought to use a slip flipping to connect the fresh water tank to a fill point.... I just ended up using a combination of PVC and Poly pipe to route mine the last time I had to rebuild it. Have you given it the hose test yet to see if a low amount of pressure will cause it to leak around that fitting? Hey Joe, No test yet... We will be jugging the water for this trip due to the cold weather, and I don't want anything freezing. Additionally, I haven't drilled the hole for the little white plastic drain valve to be able to drain the tank... But it is a tight fit to both the fill connection and the tank, so I can remove it an work on it, as I also put a rubber connector half-way so the fill pipe can be removed in two pieces, and allows for some slight missalignment. I still need to pressure test my new custom made gray water tank that the HS kids and my son welded up... But thats for another day! Garry |

Got some more work done at the rear of the camper. Pulled out the inner walls to continue with the floor repair. Have one dent to fix as well as making sure all the structure and lighting is good. I found that the only thing holding in the coping channel that screws the floor in was foam. I will rivet and cement that all back together when I get there. The wood structure for the door and the door hold were particle board that were disintegrating. Doug out some foam so that I could screw the new floor in. Originally it was only stapled in and there were 3 locations with steel brackets and screws. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Guys, could you update me on the Reflectix? We use it in insulating houses - roofs, etc - what is the advantage in the Avion and Airstream? Are you all putting it just behind cabinets and other enclosed spaces? ![]() |

The other guys who are at the rebuild stage might have some different info but in my camper when I was tearing it apart POs had put in that Reflectix stuff in the walls on the left side after they had done a jack and bunk repair. In that application it held a lot of water and became a mold problem.
