67Avion , are you referring to the water line after the water heater or the one from the fresh water tank to the WH ? The later is in a bad location behind the facia of the tub wall . There is no insulation in that wall . I managed to get 1/2" of rigid insulation behind the tubing but still don't like it . I plan to move it and move it to just under the cabinet lip so it is completely inside the cabin heated area . It won't be much noticed in that location and be much safer for cold weather . Not sure if your C-10 is set up the same way . Pictures ?

So far we have taken out the line that runs from the fresh water heater to the water heater. And yes its in a bad location. We have found more breaks as the copper line traveled around the coach. We have NOT found out yet if the lines are busted as they head into the bathroom. I haven't taken pictures of this though I'll try to get some next week.

Alas, 67! Between your long hard winter and now it's consequences, I don't wonder that you're keen to flee to south Texas. For what it's worth, I've used the flexible, polyester reinforced, pvc tubing in boats that spent the winter in very harsh climates and never had an issue. I might add that I blow out the lines with compressed air in the fall when I put the boats away. But I think the inherent flexibility of pvc tubing can cope with freezing water expansion. That's what concerns me with pex and similar semirigid pipes in this application. I'm sticking with boat plumbing systems. Hang in there. I know Kerrville's lovely in April. Besides, we need a report on that get-together! Dick |

rfuerst911sc, you can see a complete range of hoses and fittings in the West Marine catalog. I have used all-stainless clamps and the barbed Seafit fittings in the past with good success. I have just seen the Seatech line of fittings and like the apparent ease of use so I'm thinking to try those out in the Avion. My system will be powered by the Shurflo Revolution pump, which appears to be the state of the art and will meet the flow and pressure requirements of the demand heater. Incidentally, all these marine plumbing parts and hoses are available at a variety of marine retailers in addition to West. For example, Defender often has very good prices. Dick |

I used the Tygon nylabraid tubing with brass barb fittings and stainless hose clamps. Then used a home version sink faucet from a lav that fit the stock sink perfectly. Currently only cold water single line to the sink, but looking at options for a detachable external on demand hot water heater.... Garry Garry K Wife + 4 kids Retired Military Family.... I am consider replacing the original Insta-Matic water heater in my mostly stock C-11. It appears to me that the Suburban water heater will fit the existing opening and door provided a spacer is installed at the top. Has anyone done this? How did it go? I know that the Atwood water heaters are wider and therefore require structural modifications. The pilot and burner in mine are in very poor shape and rather than trying to adapt burner parts from something else I think I'm better off replacing the whole thing. 1971 Cayo C-11 truck camper, 2010 Airstream Classic, 1997 Chevrolet K2500, 2004 Chevrolet Suburban 2500 8.1. |

I know that pink antifreeze for our water system is the Bomb, We had one of the coldest winters Ive seen in my 43 years and it worked great. I got the camper out of the barn this week and went in and turned on my pump and it pressured up fine and shut off. Then I went and checked each faucet and bled any air out and turned them off, each time I turned them off the pump shut off quickly which assured me there were no leaks anywhere. I sat inside for a while and the pump never kicked back on. I will be using this antifreeze from now on.
