Hey guys, I have decided to sell my C-11 project! I've got too many things going on this coming year and I need to get this camper project off my table and into someone's hands that can take the time to finish it off and appreciate it. I'm going to sell everything that goes with it. All the old stuff, all the new stuff and the tools if you want them. I also am going to get rid of the 1994 Ram 2500 Cummins with torque lift mounts and extended camper hitch. I'll put the camper on the truck and you can drive it home pulling a trailer with all the other stuff. I know I am not going to get my labor back out of this but here's your chance to buy one that is structurally sound, water tight, polished and ready for the interior. Check out the blog if you are not familiar with this project: http://avioncamper.wordpress.com/ Email me if you have questions or are interested in buying it: [email protected] Happy Camping! Wow! You and your dad have been so stalwart in your rebuild of your C11 project that I hope that whatever has prompted your decision was good fortune... I've learned a lot from your photos and your blog and I thank you for being so willing to share your experience. Wasn't it 69 Avion who warned us to keep bourbon and crime brûlée handy during our project? I'll be glad to send you a bottle if Kentucky's finest if your decision is just a matter of losing momentum! Otherwise, someone is going to get a great project with the really hard part done. Good luck. Dick |

C11 this comes as a shock. All that dedicated work and astonishing results! I hope that you have a change of heart. If not, you can certainly be proud of what you and your dad accomplished.

Yeah, guys it's not bad. I loved the project and I hope to find it a good home. The problem is that a lot of things change during a three year project. I need a bigger RV and I don't a big need a project! Too many of those right now. Maybe I will change my mind but if I could find it a good home I would be happy to free myself of the commitment right now. Thanks guys! |

Good luck with the sale, anyone thinking about getting into an Avion here is a chance to get a good one and it's unique in its exterior. I've lost momentum on my restoration only because I don't like working in the cold. Come spring I'm back at it I hope to complete mine in 2014.

C-11, I hate to see you selling your project. You are now getting to the easy part. The interior isn't that hard to do, but some of the new furnishings get expensive. I hope you finish it and keep it, but if you do sell it, I wish that it goes to someone who appreciates all the work that you have done to it.

I saw the announcement about the Overland Expo this May 16 near Flagstaff, Az. I was really, really unhappy that I didn't make it this past year. Steve (sabconsulting) and I had talked about this for some time, contacted others, and were lucky that TC Forum member bka0721 really got it going. I've PM'ed bka0721 indicating my interest and intent to attend this year. clicky I was simply astonished at the slideshow "dream" that is on their website. In the past there have been images of monster Mogs somewhere in Mongolia. This film features TCs, as well as motorcycles and other offroad vehicles....but it REALLY features tcs. Just saying. I hope they follow through and have TC oriented programs and vendors. This event may well become the most significant meet - ups for TCs in the US. I encourage the Avion gang, thats right I'm looking at you Garry in Alaska, to meet up. I know that 69 Avion was there last year and plans to attend again. I'm just hoping that my time works out just right and I can make it. D |

Thanks Dennis for the encouragement. Unfortunately the timing stinks. That is the week that my oldest son gradates High School. So we will not be able to make it. On a separate note, I just read about this wind generator made specifically for Truck Campers. And since I live in a windy location, it looks interesting, though, I do not have a roof rack nor a ladder... And our winds regularly get above 35mph... I wonder if I could modify the tale to be spring loaded and set to "snap" to 90 degrees when the wind reached a certain speed to "unload" the generator... More ideas, and I don't even have my solar set up yet... Maybe I need to get my son to weld up a ladder first...

I know the advertisement says the large unit puts out 8.5 amps at 30 volts. |
