Topic: Avion truck campers - Hundreds of photos

It was that picture that convinced me to go to similar LED lights on my Avion. I used Peterson LEDs. They aren't cheap but they do work well. Besides, I used the similar double light to cover the original light area.

Garry, I admire the job you've done remodeling the inside of your rig. Because of my desire to maximize useable space, I'm going with an upright refrigerator in the same place as the original. Just going with the latest technology, which means no propane option and the chance to eliminate the large roof vent that the old Dometic required. I was hoping someone here would have experience with that situation.
Re LEDs, my markers are rectangular, 4x2.5". I think round LED lights would be more in keeping with the shape of the Avion. Round taillights as well. I'll have to take a marker off and see what my attachment options are.

Howdy!
Garry is correct. Engle is the only frig to
consider. Its made for the Austrialian Outback.
Will work at steep angles with incredible
energy efficiency and will freeze things solid. And they make frount
opening models too!

I think that I may have figured out the jack question that we had last year. When I spoke with Cayo, I was told they never used these La Jaqa jacks, yet my camper had them since new. Cayo said he worked there back then and they never used them. I said I was there when we picked up the camper new, and they were on the camper. Plenty of pictures prove that they were installed on many campers. Then, all of a sudden, it hit me. How could a person who "was there" have missed the different jacks? My answer may explain differences in my camper, including the model # on the VIN plate isn't a C-11 even though that is what I call it. I remembered that they had two factories. One in Michigan and one in California. The main one was in Michigan, but I doubt that a new camper destined for Arizona would come out of Michigan, where most of them came out of. The La Jaqa jacks came out of Greeley Colorado which isn't that far from California. My bet is that the California plant used the La Jaqa jacks and the Michigan plant didn't.

Today I went and picked up a Craigslist find. Bought it over the phone sight unseen but for a few photos. I haven't been able to look it over yet, but it looks fairly original except the furnace has been removed and replaced with a catalytic heater. Dent free except for the two rear curved panels on either side of the door. Tomorrow I'll have to go looking for any rot.

Nice looking C-11. I can't wait to see pictures of the inside.

Not much to see inside. Campers been sitting since 93 and leaking everyone of those twenty years. I really shouldn't have bought it as its a basket case, but for 400 I couldn't say no. The kitchen counter has swollen to almost three time original. Bit scary to load it as the 3 tripod jacks were not connected in any way. One window pane was shot out. Two bullets, one through the window then through the bathroom wall and out the bathroom window the other through the range vent and also out the bathroom window. You can see the holes in the first pic.

It does have a cool coleman wall lantern though!

Howdy!
Yes! Beautiful! A new old Avion in the making. It just gets me
tickled to see another one being saved. Garry and Dennis are to be
blamed for all of this. Inside pics and dreams please.

That is the first C-11 I have heard of with the wall lantern. Nice find.
By the way, I wonder what brand of jacks it has.
