Could I pull the guts out if the fan and use that? I dunno. My other option is to go with as is and repair the original Hehr fan in the loft. I really like the look of the vintage Hehr, but having a little air is kinda nice too! I am curious too, but my original Hehr vents were long gone, and modern plastic vents are in place (when I bought it). I will try to go get measurements, but sin mine has modern vents in it, I would think the Fantastic Fan would fit too.... Just a guess. Garry in AK. Garry K Wife + 4 kids Retired Military Family.... In my C-11 both vents are wired for a fan but only the one over the bunk came with one . You could also use a high CFM 12v computer fan . '68 Avion C-11 '02 GMC DRW D/A flatbed |

I have a fantastic vent where the original vent was over the bunk, it fit just fine. Dennis |

Yes, I took out the AC unit and replaced it with a Fantastic fan. I assume that is what you mean by "center roof vent"? I now have three roof vents. I can't remember how we wired the fan, but I suspect that we converted the 110 circuit for the AC. For the rear roof vent we had to run new 12v wiring behind the panels. It convinced me to never do that again, though we were successful.

Physical dimensions of our Fantastic Fan snout that protrudes thru the roof is 13 3/4"x13 3/4". Our hole is 14" x 14" and have a 1/4" gap. (Well, not counting our non Avion campers epdm roof that wraps the hole) I would note the snout is SQUARE-.

Howdy! Glad to hear Fantasic Fan will fit in the unadultered vent. I simply HATE fiberglass, why that is why I LOVE aluminum campers; but what to do with the end caps, butt, and bathroom. I stripped the inside paint, leaving it just aluminum. That only made the issue more apparent. I offer my humble solution of carbon fiber. |
