Lizie358 wrote: Just brought home a total disaster :-) avion c10 - will try to post some photos when I figure it out :-) WELCOME! As a fellow C10 owner, this is the best place to come to for help. I bought my C10 as a gutted shell, so these guys can help you as they helped me take it from a shell to a functional camper! Pics as soon as you can please! Lizie358 wrote: Just brought home a total disaster :-) avion c10 - will try to post some photos when I figure it out :-) If you need help on posting pictures just PM any of the folks who are commenting. Photos are super useful in determining the issues that you may have, or learning about a new technique or mod. Now, I'm sure you don't have a "total disaster" since the Avion C10 is built to withstand a direct thermonuclear hit . But, you very well may have a serious challenge. If you read this string you will find that it is always time, patience, and money that make the difference. Mostly time and patience. At the end of the day you will have a genuine collector's item for a TC. Best of luck. D |

Well worked on the Avion again tonight. Installed the left cabinet doors all refinished. Removed the temporary closet door, built a newer door sanded and varnished that door, remounted the sink, and stained some more wall panels... Still working hard before our trip starting Saturday. Pics coming soon, and a trip report to follow our trip to the Alaska State Fair! Garry in Kodiak |

No pics yet, but Made alot of progress the last few evenings! My two closet doors have been just sheets of plywood with screw in hook and eye latches to hold them shut. Quite awhile ago, I found some vintage NOS cabinet door latches. Last night I got them installed after re-working the doors a bit. Also used Danish Oil, and Danish Oil/Wax on most of the new wood, and the re-finished original wood, and it has a nice color now, and a bit of a satin sheen. Even though I have used all sorts of different types of wood and ply-wood, I am getting a little bit closer to a semi-uniform color base in the camper. Also got the wood in place to hold the Engel Fridge/Freezer stowed-for-sea. Got the Sink counter in and caulked. Built a new "foot-rest" compartment under the table leg which will allow a place to put extra shoes or soda's that is out of the way. Modified an old drawer I had to fit under the Engel, but will need to be re-worked later with actual slides and better mounting. But it will be nice for this trip. Hopefully I'll get off a bit early today and finish picking up the construction mess and take some pics of the progress... Anyone else working on or camping in their Avion's? Garry in Kodiak, AK |
