Bummer about the scheduling mixup. It's maddening when you have a sick kitty.
I think CBD oil would help Spot-man feel a lot better. It is an anti-inflammatory and an appetite stimulant, so it will help his GI feel better and get him to eat. If you can't get it locally, I gave my cancer kitty Canna-Pet and that seemed to really help him. It is available online and at some pet stores.
Hope your boy is right as rain soon.

Keep us posted WL. I hope this is just a temporary thing and he's up and about soon.

Woke up this morning and found Spotacus snuggled up against me, with a paw on my chin. He hasn't done that in several weeks. Still no purr, though.
The ultrasound shows a mass that does not appear to be attached to anything else. Thought it might be a lymph gland gone into a mass. Blood work was pretty normal, slight white count elevation that was likely due to the bladder infection, for which he'd been given a shot. They took samples of the mass and some liquid that seems to be just free floating around that area. Liquid did not look like it came from intestines. Then, since he was already out, they gave him an enema to get some of the hard poop rocks out.
When we first got him home, he laid down in his RV litter box, which we'd brought into the house because he seemed to have trouble getting up into the Litter Robot. He's much more alert now, and walking faster, although he's still not walking all that well. Hindquarters are kind of wonky. He's still not eating much of his cat food, but will happily go for treats. At the moment, he's getting a big drink from his water fountain.
Probably won't hear from the lab on either test until next week, so we've no idea what the next step will be. I will go look for some moist cat food and see if he'll eat it. Until we hear, all we can do is encourage him to eat and pet him as much as he'll allow. Poor guy.

Spotacus did not sleep with us. I think our movements make him uncomfortable. He slept on the bedside rug. Once WLToo got out of bed, Spotacus moved up. I made a bed on the rug with his binkies, then another on the great room rug, so that wherever he chooses to lay, it's padded. He can only lay on his tummy, not on his side -- probably too much pressure now.
Time to go find moist cat food. Later, y'all.

The vet called with the lab results. Spotacus has a cancerous lymph node. He’ll be visiting an oncologist on 7 Nov to see what they can do/what we can afford. Very few cancer cells have seeped into the fluid around it, so it may be removable with minimal follow-on treatment. Hate for him to have to wait so long, but that particular veterinary hospital is booked solid with cancer patients.
Spotacus almost purred when I held him for a while a bit ago. Then he ate some kibble. If his sense of survival is still as strong as when it led him to us, he just might get through it.

Go to Vitacost and order a bottle of colostrum. I have seen it put cancer in remission and masses completely disappear.

He's pooping on his own, so his increased water intake is helping. Night before last, he struggled to get onto the bed. WLToo put a footstool at the site Spotacus normally jumps up. He slept with us last night. He's now asking me to lift him up to the bathroom sink to get a drink, but still drinks from his fountain. I do believe he's feeling a little better now that the bladder infection is dealt with.
This morning, I helped him into WLToo's recliner and he's dozing there. He doesn't seem to be in actual pain, just limited mobility. But I'm still not happy that he has to wait until next week for the oncologist to see him. At least the oncologist said don't feed him (water's ok) before the visit, so they can take action right away if they can.
Yesterday was the first fully sunny day in over a month. We spent most of it on the porch. Invited Spotacus out, but he preferred to stay in bed. Today's looking good, too, so I'll be able to see/hear him through the screen door, should he decide to come out and lay on the porch sofa.
Our across the fence (vacation home) neighbors' kids or grandkids showed up with an old race car, making as much noise as possible. We live at the lake because it's so quiet. Did not appreciate that kind of noise. Thankfully, they do not stay very long.
WLToo built a trellis in the vegetable garden for the vine veggies to climb. We'll be able to walk underneath and harvest by just reaching up. He'll also be able to cover it with plastic so the garden can continue to produce during our chillier months. We're still getting an handle on winter gardening, but I'm looking forward to fresh produce in December and January. Then we plant the spring garden in late February/early March.
No word from the dealer on when the parts will arrive for all of Obi-Wander's warranty work. But as soon as she comes home, we're off to see the Marfa lights.
Tall and Short Friend said the leaves were gorgeous in Maine this year, but they're ready to come home. I know Tall Friend plans to be back here before his birthday in mid-November; not sure about Short Friend. Looking forward to them being back.
Breakfast time. Later, y'all.
