Fastpaddler, Just bought a 2014 PW Ascent. Pick up in a couple of weeks in Portland, OR. A little panicked, realizing there is no screen for the sliding door. Dogs and I need lots of air. You and your wife are working on that! What is your plan....how did you design it? One big piece? Overlapping so you can get in and out? Magnets? Tape? Any insights would be appreciated! |

Marionap, Congratulatons.Very nice RV and good size for camping and shopping and touring without needing another vehicle in tow. We stay at commercial RV Resorts so we just drop our sewer pipe, water hose etc, but always remove the shorepower electrical cord(expensive) and go where we like. I am surprised PW dont have a screen for your sliding door.DId you enquire? You have the two rear doors on your Ascent like we have on our Plateau TS.You simply fix stick-down velcro tabs around the perimeter of the door opening. Then attach the corresponding velcro tabs to a piece of nylon screen, the size of the doors opening and stick it on. For the front windows you can put on pocket screens. If you go to Screenz.com(i think that is the name) you can see what i mean. We had a problem with wasps last week when camping so my wife bought a window curtain, ran a narrow rod through the top hem(use the expandable rod you can get at hardware store) and fitted it just above the inside of the sliding door.On ours there is a ledge for little things above the sliding door. It will hang down and you can put a couple of weights inside the bottom hem. Attach a peg to the passenger side and the other side is tucked into the door channel which faces the kitchen countertop part by the door--if you see what I mean. It is not great but it works. You need air cross-flow so having your side windows open and even the back doors with the screen on would help a lot. We dont have the pocket screens made yet for the front truck doors. Did you check with Pleasureway as they may have a contact who makes them. Just send them an email as they are very helpful. With any fixed screen you will be aware of possible tearing by one of your pets although our pooch stays clear of the one by the sliding door.Cannot figure out why it is there?? Spent the last couple of days organizing our new RS. Just got it back on Thursday after spending a week in the MB service shop. Two problems gave us the engine light and went into limp home mode. One problem was the CDI module reading faulty. On the road again....yippie!!!!

We found 303 Aerospace Protectant at NAPA and applied it to tires and running boards. Auto stores in our area had never heard of it and even NAPA had to order it. Someone had asked about this in this forum earlier. Our experience was that it went on easy and made both tires and running boards look like new. There are YouTube videos that indicate that it can be used for all sorts of things. We may try it on our truck's tonneau cover.

Moved my PW Plateau to another location in RV yard to escape mice by the fence.Plugged in my solar trickle charger. I will need to either put covers on my new tires or spray them with protectant. Any views on this ie re spray-on protectant to inhibit tire-wall cracking?
