Been home a week from a trip to Death Valley and the Mojave Desert and finally started cleaning the van. A lot of wind and a lot of sand.

Took out the screens and curtains on the windows that open so I could get all the sand out. Got the bedding all cleaned (our's and the dog's) and the van vacuumed.

The wind was blowing sand everywhere, so even though I changed the oil and filter in the van and gen before we went I am going to do it again this weekend. And clean and reoil the air filter. (Might not need it but I will feel better if I do it.)

A thought since you just came back from DVNP, do you think washing the undercarriage fo the van would be a good idea? I would suspect there is a fair amount of salt picked up from driving around on the floor of Death Valley?

Just what I needed.
I came in the house feeling good that I got the oil and filter changed in the Van and Gen (whether it needed it or not) and what do I find. One more thing to add to my "Do I Need To Do ?" list.[emoticon]

As usual though I did roll around on the old creeper while I was under there and look at everything. Didn't notice any fresh rust.
Haven't seen any sign's of corrosion from last years trip either.
And I do look it over (and under) pretty good after every trip.
Shocks, springs, nuts and bolts, tanks, brake lines, and everything else.

I read on a forum somewhere, were some one hooked up a sprinkler system and put it under their RV to wash the under belly. Sounded like a good idea and we plan to do that when the weather gets just a little bit warmer.

Had the transmission and differential flushed at 80,000 kms, in preparation for our, coming soon, departure for home.

Complete cleaning tomorrow, then loading slowly to get everything in.

Have to face the fact that we will have to return to the cold country and be miserable until summer comes.

It finally got warm enough today (above freezing) to fiddle around with our new B. So spent time lining drawers, removing new stuff labels, clean coffee pot, setup refrigerator and microwave, etc. We'll start putting stuff in that we removed from our old B.

One important thing we did. We ran the propane furnace. Sure enough it set off the smoke alarm. We knew it would from experience. Better now than in a campground somewhere. After about an hour all the newness, oil, coatings and stuff burned off and the alarm quit going off.

What a great idea! One of those "Why Didn't I Think Of That" things.

I replaced the shower curtain with a 100% waterproof curtain and it is all the way to the floor. Hopefully water won't splash all over the floor and it will be waterproof. Next project will be to install my 2 plastic containers under the cabinets to hold more "stuff". Gotta have more stuff. Made new floor mats from regular rubber mats for wet boots. Getting ready for our 4200K mile trip in May. Just need a few days to warm up and finish working on things.

Got new tires, went home and changed the engine oil and filter, changed the fuel filter, changed the generator oil, changed the air and cabin filters. Getting ready for a cross country trip soon. I still need to get the tranny fluid and filter changed.

Finished emptying it out after 78 days on the road. It was a warm winter for us.

Over the last few days I washed, waxed, and got the oil changed at my Ford dealer on my 09 PW Ford Excel. The dealer only charged me $40 for the oil and filter change on the V10 engine including a multipoint inspection. I thought that was a very good price for the service.
