Topic: What Did You Do To Your Class B Today ?

Posted By: stan909 on 07/30/15 02:49am

My bro-inlaw looked into a missfire on cylinder 6 and found old mouse dropings and chewed through insulation resulting in some melted wiring to the number 6 injector. Unfortunately it fried the part of the computer that controls that injector requiring replacement of the computer. He found a used one and installed it. Worked great. Fortunately 96 Dodge vans don't need to have a dealer program the computer. Just plug n play. I also insulated my ceiling. Yuck ! I hate doing insulation.

Installed the proper Idle Air Control solinoid and replaced the air filter and pcv valve and changed the oil while i was in there, she seems to happy with a nice smooth idle and no complaining during gear changes now. I also traced out my house water line leak when connected to shore water. The commode fresh water line connection was tight enough not to leak under the electric pump, but not tight enough to survive the higher pressure shore water line. a few turns and no more leak, hopefully that's all. Should be good to go for our three day trip to the beach next week...

Put some fabric softener sheets under the van. We saw a skunk running underneath it the other night. Hopefully, this will deter it. [emoticon]

Took it to an upholsterer to find out how much to recover the two seats. WOW.
I think it will get just a seat cover.

For the third time since 2010, I have had to remove the toilet and attempt to fix the water supply leak. I say attempt, because it only manifests itself when we are travelling. Currently, we are stopping at our eldest son's place and the leak is not evident.

Against all plumbing advice, I have wrapped plumbers tape around the plastic threads in an effort to stop the leak. We shall see!!!

Got the transmission serviced and got a clean inspection report on it.
Also took to work so a mechanic there can try and fix my wiper problem [emoticon]

Discovered the hidden and cryptic 3rd bed in the 1996 Coachmen (pull out over the cab). Now positive I own a 19' RV that sleeps 5 or even 6 (but no shower!). Was not sure because side rail trim prevented pull out until removed. So figured out how to remove rails without damaging them, and then tested the slide out bed. Tomorrow the mattress topper goes in.
