Pianotuna,
That's great, thanks for letting me know. You sure have low R.H. in your part of the world....this time of year.

Hi,

Just an update to say the magic carpets from Tempurtech, are the best winter modification I've made. Not cheap, but totally silent and oh so warm to walk on.

I did get the indoor/outdoor version, so after the heating season is over I can pressure wash them and store them once they are fully dry.

I also heat taped my drain pipe and insulated it. Had problems before with ice buildup near a dripping valve. A big brown ice cube and broken hose went in the dumpster that winter. Now I cover everything with insulated blankets that contractors use for covering concrete. I have seen one guy use them for skirting but I don't want to do that. Lots of good information here. After last winter, I will be trying more to keep out the cold.

Hello,

We are currently living in an '05 travel trailer full time while we build our house. Our plans are to be out of it by next summer. All these winter tips are a big help. However, has anyone built an enclosed porch? If there is a better forum to ask this please let me know.

Thanks
Jim

Hi,

I've seen add on porches for mobile homes. I don't see any reason why it could not be done for an RV.

I have the venting for our water heater, furnace and fridge where I would like to have part of the 3 wall mud room. Do all 3 need to be vented out, or can they vent into the enclosed mud room?

Those three items MUST vented to the outside.
