garysol wrote: ![]() How do you flush your sewer hose after you dump your black tank? FensterRV wrote: ![]() Let me expand on that question. Do you use the sewer rinse valve for the tanks and for how long? Do you have to be careful with water pressure too like you do on the fresh tanks? I do use the grey tank to flush the sewer hose after emptying the black tank. Here are the steps I follow for dealing with the waste water.... First Night No sewer hookups. Plenty of capacity to wash up in the evening, morning and afternoon without having to connect. Second Evening Connect sewer and empty grey tank before dinner. I leave the grey tank open so that we can do dishes and wash up in the evening without worry. The grey tank stays open for the rest of the trip until the last night. Last Night I close the grey tank tank after the kids go to bed the evening before we leave. That allows us to fill the grey tank in the morning with washing up and doing dishes. If we're only staying a 2 nights, it basically means I empty the grey tank once in the middle of our trip. Leaving Day Black tank gets emptied first then I hook up the hose and run the black tank flush while I start packing up other things. Sometimes I get busy with something and forget that the flush is still running, but it averages around 5-10 min when I turn it off. Then the grey tank is emptied. Using the black tank flush every time and leaving the tanks empty when we leave, I find that I don't need to add any black tank chemicals at all. I also have a separate sewer hose cleaning attachment, but I find that I don't really need it, either. As for water pressure, where we stay it is super high (like a fire hydrant!), so I always use a pressure regulator fitted with a Y-splitter. Fresh water on one side and the garden hose on the other. No water get connected to the trailer without being regulated. 2007 GMC Yukon XL Denali ~ 2010 Keystone Premier 31BHPR ~ Sold: 2009 Tango 289BH ProPride 3P Hitch ~ RV Modifications ~ Gear & Accessories ~ Road Trip 2010 ![]() |

NetAndDavid wrote: ![]() After this four day weekend I noticed that there was toilet paper down in my toilet still. It there an elbow right there that it might be stuck in? if so, how do I get it to flow. I tried useing the hose at the dump station but it wouldnt bugde. Will it desolve over time and I should just let it be? Or is there a change one of the kids put something down there at they shouldn't have? I noticed this winter that when I was dumping our black tank that there wasn't enough liquid to create a good flow while emptying so I changed from encouraging the kids not to use too much water to asking them to use MORE water when flushing. If the black tank is not full when we're ready to leave, I add extra water to try to fill it up. That's easy to do since the outside sink drains into the black tank ![]() ![]() That might be the case in your situation. The paper is not going to dissolve anytime soon, so you can either buy one of those black tank wands to stick down the toilet and spray, or what I would do is fill up the black tank with water, dump a bag of ice into the black tank and drive around. The sloshing with the ice cubes should dislodge things enough to get it clean the next time you empty. |

FensterRV wrote: ![]() 3) Does everyone run their AC 24/7? Its about 90 degrees here in NJ. 5) Did anyone cook pancakes on the burner on the outside kitchen? Curious if it gets hot enough to accomplish this. 6) Thanks! If anyone has ample time, a review of a setup list when they get to the camp site sure would help. I'm more concerned with the internal stuff in the camper. Just catching up with some earlier questions ![]() 1. At first I didn't really want a programmable thermostat, but that was the only one the store had when I bought it. So when it's hot I do run the AC 24/7 (except as noted before when it's really hot and we need to use the microwave). Anyway, even though our AC runs 24/7 we have separate morning, day, and evening settings because during the day we may not be in the trailer and at night it doesn't need to be as cool. 2. While I haven't done pancakes outside, we have done other things like stir fry vegetables, hot dogs and sausages, and Jiffy Pop popcorn. I find that the stove gets hot enough but it's slower to heat up to temperature depending on how windy it is outside. Our setup procedure... 1. Level RV/Chock wheels/Open outside kitchen (where levelers are stored) 3. Connect power (on a 2-minute delay with surge protector) 4. Lower stabilizer jacks/connect water/unlock bathroom door 5. Lay out doormat at bottom of front steps 5. Bring out slides/extend awning 6. Turn on fridge (if not on already) 7. Run water taps to eliminate air 8. Turn on hot water 9. Unstrap outside fridge and remove door spacer 10. Put up patio lights. There's not much really to setup inside except open the shades, since we already have everything packed where we want it. |

I don't know why I skipped Step 2 in my list. I open the outdoor kitchen because I store the Lynx levelers and chocks there. As soon as the wheelsare chocked, I unhitch before I do anything else. However, if I'm just doing a 1 night stop-over, I don't unhitch at all. |

Just a heads up guys. Had a strong smell of propane yesterday. Did the soapy water check and sure enough my Regulator is leaking from around the selecter valve. You may want to check yours. Few other minor issues this weekend as well. The toy lock cable quit retracting and the outside kitchen lock has gotten very hard to unlock.

Well we now have one official trip under our belt. We had a fantastic time and we love the camper. I'm going to ramble a few thoughts about the Bullet and come back when I have more time. First the few negatives 1) The grey tank is just plain too small. WAY TOO SMALL. We were at a state park and just had electic and water. You really can take all of 1 shower and maybe do the dishes twice before being completely full. That STINKS. I doubt you can upgrade the size of your tank right? 2) Our Bike lock keys did not work for the local. Not a big item as I can replace it. 3) When we used the oven the smoke alarm went off, so no big deal we just yanked it out while cooking. Sure this is common. 4) While cooking breakfast outside, which is just great, the bathroom door opens up to the extended stove. My kids did that twice. 5) The water pressure in the kitchen sink wasnt that great. Will see if that improves via different campgrounds. I made it through the entire trip without hitting my head while laying in the bed. Then WHAAM i got it. I laughed at my 5'1 wife who did it several times. Other than that , I'm in complete love with Bullet although very annoyed about the grey tank. Being a noobie, I know I should have knew that going in. Live and learn. Be back later. |

Quick question, does the 19FBPR have a black tank flush? Looked on keystones website and couldn't find anything.
