deffenm welcome to the Keystone Bullet Premier family. Which model did you get? What TV will you use to tow this? We also upgraded from a popup to ours. Many awesome memories to you and yours in your new TT!

Habs97 wrote: ![]() Now, my question is about the type of hitch. My dealership sells Husky products, so he suggested me the Husky centerline hitch to tow my TT. Don't think anyone has addressed this yet. I am certainly not in the know on this subject but I'll tell you what we have for our TT. You can do a search and compare it to the option you have available at your dealer. Learn why you need them and how they work. I know people have installed these things themselves but its beyond me so I had the dealer install what he sold and we've been very happy with it on the ONE trip we had with our TT last fall when we first bought it! So again, not advising this just sharing what we have for you to compare. We have installed the Reese Dual Cam High Performance Sway Control 26002 with Trunnion Style Weight Distributing Kit. I don't think it matters if you tow it a short or long distance but something you definitely need with this size trailer. I've read good things about all of these. Mostly it's just another shocker expense to add to the fun of getting on the road and being safe! |

Many awesome memories to you and yours in your new TT! We purchased the 31BH. Our TV is a 2008 Ford Expedition and we purchased the Equilizer 4 way- sway control and weight distribution hitch. So far we are very happy with our purchase. |

Some owners of that model may have in their signature what they are using to tow. We have the 28RLPR which is slightly smaller. We had Ford Expedition which pulled fine on flat land. We drove it first time home in 40 mph gust which was a horrible experience. Not enough car to feel safe. It didn't have enough power to comfortably get over a few hills in flat driving Iowa. Note it's not that the expedition couldn't have done it but it was to much strain IMHO on the car, would probably have worn the poor engine out before to long. This is the TT model we wanted, no more no less. We upgraded to F250 Diesel. We use a Reese Dual Cam High Performance Sway Control 26002 with Trunnion Style Weight Distributing Kit. Works great. It's more than just being able to pull it up the hills, its everything a truck like that can offer me as a driver to have better control over the TT. From braking, sway control (yes we have a sway bar), wheel base length and so on. For years camping we've always ended up in mountains somewhere flyfishing and hiking and knew we needed something with more power to get us there. We're glad we upgraded. |

I have a 2004 F-150 KR and I know that I am at my limits and respect that. I am looking to upgrade to a F-250.

First off winter sucks. I had a 1/2 ton chevy but wasnt happy so i bought a 3/4 ton. The 1/2 pulled the 31 ok but i like the way the 3/4 pulls better.

i have pulled my 31BHPR with both our 1/2 ton tahoe, and a 3/4 ton dodge pickup. they both pulled it fine. the engine in the tahoe is a 5.3 and the dodge has the 5.7 and both have 3.73 gears. neither one of my options are great on hills you will be going slow. i personnally like to tow with the tahoe better.

I tow my 31BHPR with my 1/2 ton Denali with 383 hp and 6-speed transmission. I had no problems keeping up with traffic or with trailer sway going over the Rockies or in high-crosswinds. We were on the road for 27 days towing the Premier--we love it and we've put it through a lot. At the very end of our Vancouver to Minneapolis road trip last summer, we suffered blown-out bearings on one wheel caused by a bent axle. We covered thousands of miles, went through dozens of construction zones, and I drive with a heavy foot so I don't know the exact cause or time of the bent axle (shhh, I also backed up over a curb). An unevenly worn tire that I discovered after Minneapolis should have signaled a problem to me. In the end we spent an extra 3 days in Deer Lodge, Montana (not a bad thing, actually) while we waited for a new axle. Our Denali is still going strong despite all the abuse I give it. That being said, my future plans are to get a 3/4 ton Suburban or 1 ton van to increase our cargo capacity--but I sure will miss the Denali's power! 2007 GMC Yukon XL Denali ~ 2010 Keystone Premier 31BHPR ~ Sold: 2009 Tango 289BH ProPride 3P Hitch ~ RV Modifications ~ Gear & Accessories ~ Road Trip 2010 ![]() |

I wanted to add one more thing. I know this is a big football weekend, but it's been a couple of months and I'm excited to be going "off-the-grid" (i.e. no TV, no Internet) and going RVing for the first time this year. The Premier went through the winter (what little we had here on the west coast) in good shape, but I guess with all the rain, there was a little bit of moss growing on one of the storage doors. Temps will still be near freezing, but I'm hoping that our propane will last us at least for tonight. I won't get a chance to fill it until tomorrow--it could be a cold night!
