Thank you all for letting us share another aspect of travel in our truck camper... we find uses for it everywhere.
This was a fun place.

We have eaten at that very In-N-Out Burger joint! Burgers were good.
The other thing I remember is that I could see a stop sign on the service road behind the building while eating lunch. The cross street came in from the main street. No one would stop at the stop sign, just plowed on through.
Best wishes for good health for 2015 and keep posting. I enjoy reading.

Let's finish the 2014 trip report....
a few more pictures.... from a couple of stops.
lets skip east to the Civil War Battlefield at Corinth, MS.... Shiloh National Military Park
I know and understand... you young folks don't realize how recent the Civil War was to some of us. The Civil War was over in 1865.... 150 years ago.
for those of us born in the late 1930's or like me in 1940 we we born half way back to that War....
My great grandfather was born in 1867.... I knew him for 11 years... he died in 1951.
We had family only a couple of generations from that war.... when we were kids the winners didn't gloat about winning because familys were decimated by the loss of so many of their members.... the losers of the civil wat didn't want to complain endlessly by continuing to "fight" the insurection by showing the Confederate flag.... thats a recent thing....
When we go to any of the Civil war Battlefields we see unbelievable numbers of deaths.... we see where the civilian population starved, the fathers and brotheres, uncles and sons would never come home
These parks are reminders of what civil war is really like....

This picture has just one note to remind us of the cost in men....
Both the winners and the losers lost huge numbers.... the loss of life on both sides brings tears to my eyes....

We are Oh so close.... Knoxvillw, TN.... 14 miles to go and we'll be home.... we have struggled to find the good in this trip, to live with the problems.... it has been something
We have slept in our truck camper a total of 1081 nights since we bought it new in November of 2002 and I retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratory in 2005
We have phoned ahead.... Dr Appointments are made.... hard times are ahead for Janet...
We are each privately hopeing that this wouldn't be our last trip.
*********************************
We stopped at Chuy's for dinner..... to celebrate....
