A last look... as we cross over the Kanawha River... looking accross the Ohio River... and our parting look at the "Chief Cornstalk State Park. I'm too old to re-learn the name as I knew it from from 65 years ago.

US-35 was a narrow 2 lane black top road when we were on it last about 40 years ago. I grew up in St Albans, Janet grew up in South Charleston which is obviously nearer to Charleston. We seldom return there.

Point Pleasant is one of our favorite destinations. We go there to visit my wife's aunt who until recently lived in the high-rise in your linked photo (if the link works as I hope). Turning 100 years old last year, she fell and was injured and now lives in a nursing home across the Ohio River. Soon our visits to this beautiful little spot will end, but we will treasure them always.

If you are ever passing through this area in your TC, stop and spend a day or two there. Places like this are the reason we have our campers.

Marshall... thanks

It is a beautiful and calm area most of the time.... well except for the different wars and floods and bridges dissapearing into the river in a split second.

We enjoyed our last visit in October... and it really was probably our last...too many places, too little time.

My new look... my clothes are getting baggy. The darn doctors have quit fussing... I'm 52 pounds lighter that when I retired in January of 2005... Lean Cusine and Salads.... and a good wife.

Thank you Steve, that's music to my ears.

Weight loss probably helps... but part of the weight loss was the result of 18 months of medical surgeries, tests, treatments, and reactions from medications that really dragged me down.

Traveling for the whole month of October made me feel both good and wore me out. The memories recalled and the new memories made were worth it though.

Over the past couple of weeks I'm itching to get the camper out and on the road... then I go outside the house... OMG it is cold... everywhere in North America.

I've gone the same route, but it's about 40#. My XXL stuff hangs on this body. But that's a good thing!
