While on a late summer rally with the Ohio Rally Group, someone mentioned it would be neat to have some RV.NET name badges. I brought out the ones that we use when camping with our Holiday Rambler Club to show the folks what one possibility might be like. The general consensus was that we should pursue making that type of name badge available to all the RV.NET campers that might be interested. I agreed to work with the site Admins to get the OK to use the RV.NET logo on a badge. The end result is a badge supplier with the correct permissions to make badges similar to these:
![[image]](http://i44.tinypic.com/rjh8pl.jpg)
The supplier of the badges has a web-site where you can order and see some variations on the badges. For example, you see in the picture above I call out the type of rig I have (class A) or the forum I usually post in (class A forum).
Next to that is my screen name on both of the examples. If you have a long screen name you might want to just put that below the RV.NET logo. Or you could use that line for something like “The Ohio Rally Group”. The next line is my name, and the bottom line is my home town and state.
I have no business connection with these folks other than having purchased my Holiday Rambler badges from them. I will get nothing from them if you order a badge. I just did the foot work on getting the forum admin permissions to use the logo(thanks to Johnny T for his help in that area). I also shamelessly copied the format from the Holiday Rambler club badges I have.
The supplier I worked with is Badges-R-Us at this web site (link removed as redirects to adaware).
On the web-site you can click on the link to RV Clubs (link removed as redirects to adaware) and see some of the other club examples. Notice that you can get any of the badges with what they call a hang bar for a small additional charge (see the Holiday Rambler club badge) – this might be a great way to show the Ohio Rally Group, maybe a particular rally, or Class A Forum Admin – they will work with you to customize.
The badges you see in my pictures have a magnet back to hold it to your shirt/blouse and will run under $10 each with an additional small shipping charge. They also can make them with a regular pin-type attachment if that is what you would prefer. My wife and I really like the magnet since it is so easy to put on and off.
If you are looking for a neat camp-out addition I think these would be a great idea. As I get older I seem to have more trouble remembering names and having name tags like this really helps someone with CRN (can’t remember names). It’s also a great way to start a conversation about “What’s that RV.NET thing on your badge?” and get some more folks involved in this great forum.

For those that are attending some of the big rallies - the folks at Badges R Us have a list of the shows and Rallies they will be at on their web-site. You can get the badges done on the spot if you see them there.

Tom, I remember seeing you wearing it at our Ohio rally. I`m wanting one. I guess I`ll wait and see if the ohio rally group are getting ones that all will match. Thanks for checking into it for everyone. Hope to see you at a rally this year.

Got a note that they should have updated 2009 calendar on Badges-R-Us web-site this weekend (1/17 or 1/18)
