I have googled chain pocket, but have been unable to find anything related to mounting shock absorbers. Do you have a link where I can find a chain pocket? Or maybe a picture?

Hi Guys
I tried to buy the Monroe shock mount kit. None where available and Shock warehouse had no idea when they would be available. This was now 1 year ago. They said they had a hard time getting the install kits. But I did get 4 Magnum gas shocks from shock warehouse. Still in the box...
Monroe may have fixed there supply chain issues now, I hope so, but if they have not, it may be hard to get a mounting kit. I am making my own mounts. I have covered tanks and as such I can't mount the front axle shock inboard of the frame so I have to create a special thin mount to not have the tire hit the shock dust tube.

Thanks for your help. The chain pocket I used has nothing to do with mounting shock absorbers. It is an item I found in a local farm ranch supply that worked for my application. See this site for what I am taking about Chain Pocket
Sorry the site I listed calls it a stake pocket. I guess it can also be used for a chain pocket.

ALKO according to their application guide says that the HGR's should be 29 3/4" apart from each other, does anyone have and idea what effect it would have if the HGR's were 29 7/16".
I'm going to be rebuilding the suspension and without a good foundation (HGR) being located where it "should" be all else is pointless. The trailer has never towed right, eaten lots of tires since day one, had front hanger passenger side rehung as that hanger was 5/8" to far back, first repair facility that aligned the trailer shortly after I bought it modified the axle seat to get around that, that axle lost it's u-bolts last month.
I'm mechanical but not a mathematician or english major.

When you get to rebuilding the alxes and alignment, let me know. May be able to help, I did mine this past spring.
However your first note kind of got me. Do not know what HGR's stands for and could not figure out what you where talking about.
But since you are buying an EZ flex, well you are on leaf springs (not torsion) and that distance was most likely axle to axle spacing.
If you wnat to yak more on axle install, take out a new post as it can get long in itself and send me a PM so I can join in the fun....

Hi John, Will do that when I get all the data in front of me, doing lots of reading on hear as well as Dexter's Service Manual, taken lots of measurements I didn't need and haven't taken some I do need. The "HGR" is a manufactures abbreviation for "Hanger" lol - anyways looking at Dexters site in determining the E-Z Flex I need to order I am going to have to do some "bump clearance" measurements as my equalizer is the one that uses the K71-652-00 tandem kit and according to them it will lower the trailer approx. an inch. I'm sitting by the fire thinking I will be alright but don't want to order it and then find out different.
This is why I think I need to measure clearance, but also showing twisted hanger - that is a 5/64" allen in there.

This is one thing that has me hung up - twisted hanger.
Dexter also gave me lots of closer dimensions with regards to if you measure your spring length they tell you what the HGR/hanger spacing should be for double eye (actually for any spring axle 1, 2, or 3).

At the end of that file are actual diminsions of the EZ flex. You can measure your current rigid equalizer bolt spacing and compare to the actual EZ flex.
For reading on messed up axle and tire wear see here. There is also link in there for more trouble shooting prior to the new axle install.

Hi All,
I haven't posted to the forum before, but I've been lurking around for some time and I've gleaned much knowledge since I found it. Here's something that might be of interest.
If you go to Dexter's webpage and click on the inventory reduction sale tab, you'll find a page to help one determine which E-Z Flex kit to order.
My TT has the equalizer like the one pictured at the bottom. There is a warning to check the bump clearance before ordering the E-Z Flex (which is on sale BTW) as it will lower my TT by one inch. Doesn't sound like much, but I want to make sure the frame won't hit the axle or the tire won't hit the top of the wheelwell.
I've been wanting to install this kit, but I'm glad I spotted this information before I ordered. Hopefully, it will help other members, too!
