At a friend's back yard near Del Norte, CO.

Can it be considered boondocking when a picnic table is nearby? [emoticon]

alageezer - The second photo is along the eastern Sierra Nevada near Crowley Lake. Nice to know somebody looks around the site now and then!

This place was below our usual standard for scenery and remoteness... so I guess we won't go back there.

Being by yourself helps a lot, the scenery is great.[emoticon]

Thanks for the compliment and for starting the topic, 'Rubiranch'. I just couldn't resist a little smug hyperbole by making the above comment [grin!]. Actually, I'd go back there to the middle of Utah in a heartbeat if I thought I could talk my wife into it (she is not a 'happy camper' when it comes to challenging offroad travel [grin!]). She did a great job documenting the thirty-odd miles of trail going in there but I was worried the whole time that she was just gathering evidence for the divorce proceedings [grin!]. I can't take credit for the scenery, either. It looks much better in person than I could ever hope to depict it, here.

I like the picture with 'jimandsue's new FOURWHEEL camper (...their picture with the Class 'A' is kind of disgusting, though [grin!]). I also admire 'sierras' Nevada pictures and 'Off Pavement's photos (...looks like a mixture of South Dakota and Colorado subjects).

Brian & Margie,

Rest assured that I have studied your site long and hard. We're heading out the 1st of March for a three to six month excursion out west, and I have highlighted several of your suggestions. One in particular that we will try is the one close to Sunnyside, Nv. I even have that one as my background for motivation purposes. We may try to find the one close to Lander, Wy also, haven't got that far in the planning stage yet.

Thank you for a great site, and also to Rubiranch for a great thread.

Off Pavement,
I went by Crowley Lake the other day - it's nice and frozen! Wow, do they have a lot of snow now!

To everyone who has posted,
Thank you for the fantastic photos. Besides actually being out camping, I love nothing more than looking at photos of beautiful campsites and scenery. Thanks again!

How about this one on Cozumel Island in Feb 07. This is boondocking.

Near Ferron Reservoir in the Manti-La Sal National Forest.

Looking out our dinette window.

We came here (like every where we go[emoticon]) to ride our ATV. This area is where the Arapeen ATV trails are, this was one of our favorite trips.

Thanks everyone post posting your pictures, lets go camping.[emoticon]

semi-boondocked. NFS campground on the Taylor River in CO. Some gravel to park on, a picnic table and a fire ring. Life is good.
