Here's where we and two other couples in 24 foot Class C motorhomes camped out in the middle of nowhere during the spring of 2008. We had to travel 7-10 mph for around 7 miles (each way) on a terrible washboard road, plus crawling even slower for about 1 mile (each way) on a 4X4 road to get there. We were touring Death Valley in a 3-rig convoy. We are the Itasca on the left:
