I hope this has not been answered, I have not been on the forum for awhile. I own A 2005 FS3000 and received papers. I have not heard anyone talk about this model in this thread, but have to assume they are in the same boat. I have a few questions:
1. What are the "problems" people are having with the frames?
2. I never take my WW of road. Are these issues geared more to the ones who take them on uneven ground or off raod camping?
3. I understand the finishes have been coming apart due to frame flex, is this somewhat correct of the problems?
4. I will check the link, but did I understand someone found in the papers that a local dealer can do the fix?
5. If my trailer has no signs of damage (it does not from my eyes), is their anything WW will do?
Thanks for your help...

If I lived near the manufacturer I would probably take it to them for the repair but I ain't going to ship it. The chances for more damage in shipping is too great great just for them to do a little welding on the tongue.

They show you a GVWR and hitch weight and then they show a "specified GVWR and hitch weight" which has a higher hitch weight. what and why is this? My hitch weight is very close to the lower number and WAY under the specified number.
The first Hitch weight is what WW advertised
The Spec Hitch weight is what they have discovered to be the "real" or more accurate weights.
On some of the trailers it is close but on others the advertised weight is way off and a possible cause of damage to Tow Vehicle Hitches ( which is also covered in the Settlement)
although this seems strange to me as I don't understand how the manufacturer is responsible for the Hitch weight- I would take 10% of the Trailer's GVWR and base my Hitch weight on that and make sure my Truck's Hitch could handle that number.

My trailer weighs 7000 with 2 atv's loaded. I have about 750lbs. tongue weight. Seems about right to me. But if it was filled with water I would be over the GVWR
My trailer is a FK2100.

I am just wondering if Zieman is responsible for the cost of these repairs due to the fact that most of them are structural issues. I have a trailer of a different brand at the manufaturer right now for a bent frame with transportation issues from my their place to mine now that the trailer is repaired. And my bent frame was blamed me by driving it on a somewhat rough road. But Zieman acted like a bent frame was unheard of in their industry. Now the manufacture is crying wolf that they are upside down on my trailer and can't get it back to me. Does this seem fair?

I've got a 2007 FB1900 that I bought in July. So far I've got about 1600 miles on it. At 500 miles, I bought 5 new tires. After two weekend outings, two of the C-Rated Transmasters had big tears in the sidewalls. I thought the tires were too small and underrated anyways, so I took money out of my own pocket and bought 5 new higher rated tires. Nothing from GreenBal or WW yet as far as getting compensation for the two tires.
I also have some of electrical problems as well. The LP dectector sometimes beeps randomly- I have checked with a seperate detector and found no trace of fumes/gas. And once in a while, if I flip the switches for the lights, inside or out, the LP monitor will also churp. The monitor above the sink dosen't work correctly. At time it reads that the batteries are fully charged only to find out that they're DIS-charged to point that I have to jump em' to start the generator. What bothers me the most is that I can't pin-point the problem. And it dosen't always accur; It's random.
My trailer tounge is 3/16". Haven't noticed any flexing yet. But today, after reading this site, the front end does look a little off. I guess it time to get involved and see what I can out?

If you bought it in July why haven't you taken it back to the dealer for warranty?

Not yet. I was wanting to let the list of fixes build up first before I took er' in. We get away at least once a month and I was afraid that our trailer would sit at the dealer/repair shop waiting while we could be out riding. So far, we've just dealt with it. Unless it's a major repair or appliances while under warranty, I've always fixed my own. No reason for the dealer to have our trailer for a few weeks for pidley junk. I'm sure the problems that we have will be resolved sooner or later.

Thats what we did. Just got ours back. Waited a year and had 30 something items on the list. Mostly cosmetic except for replacement of water tank. We took it to the WW Perris facility. They had it done in less than 3 weeks. This was through the holdays as well. Great service. They did a good job and did some stuff we didn't even have listed. Like additional frame supports and repainted our interior floor. Trailer came back nice and clean and new looking. Great job Weekend Warrior!!!!!!!!!!!

My story begins on August 3, 2007. Had the second trip to Sturgis in my 2006 WW FS2300 and 2004 Durango loaded her up with 2 Harleys (Same as the first trip in 2005). Now since this trip was planned out, and it was a long way (From NJ)I made sure that all bearings were greased right and the trailer weight was distributed as close to spec as possible. I had borrowed my buddy's tongue scale and made sure we didn't have too much (or too little) tongue weight and we got it pretty close to even. We hit the road and about an hour into the trip the rig was a little squirrelly and I figured we had more weight than normal and I will pull over anyway to check on the bikes. Everything seemed ok and I tightened up my Reese dual Cam one more link. It seemed to work ok and on we went, another 30 minutes and it was getting bad so I pulled over at a Truck service place. The guy told us its probably like that because there is not enough tongue weight. I told him we have it at the maximum that is rated by the manufacturer, I pulled out the manual while we unhooked and checked to see if anything had shifted or that we measured it correctly. He measured it and said that 635 pounds was too low and it should be closer to 10% to 15% of the total weight of the trailer. Desperate to try something, we took his advice since he seemed to know what he was talking about, so we shifted some stuff around, and moved everything we could up front towards the tongue. We got it up to 730 pretty quick and I threw the man a 20 and hit the road. Maybe it was my imagination, but it seemed better, back on the road. Went about 20 miles and almost at the PA border when a truck sped by me on the right and the trailer went into an uncontrollable sway and we ended up doing a 180 and a jacknife on Route 78 with oncoming traffic and trucks doing about 85. We came to rest after the center guard rail caught us and stopped us.
We were alive and I was just baffled. I checked the rig and my rear quarter of the TV was totally smashed from the jacknife and the same corner of my trailer was smashed a little from the contact. One of the D Rings holding the bike ripped right out of the floor sending it smashing into the other. We unloaded the bikes and remarkably were able to tow the trailer after we replaced the 2 blown out tires. I was too spooked to drive so I rode my bike and my cousin took over and we took the rig home, doing no more than 50 mph. Have not taken the rig out since, frankly I was afraid. I had a few people look at it and they said the frame is bent and needs straightening. Insurance had some guy look at it and he showed me that the front part was bent slightly.
3 months later I get this recall thing and I am reading it and I get to the part about the weights and my stomach dropped. My recommended tongue weight went from 635 to 942! All I can hear is the guy from the truck place telling me "you need more tongue weight" "the main cause for sway is not enough tongue weight" I remember that when I added 100 lbs to the tongue it seemed to help a little, what if I had added 300?
I cannot believe that a trailer manufacturer would be so neglectful to post such inaccurate numbers on something that can have such a critical impact on safety. Anyway whats done is done, I can go on about how I almost lost my life and the the life of my cousin in truck with me, but I will stop here. Bottom line is I want to make sure that my frame is straight, and my hitch is straight before I go out again. I also am ready to ditch the Durango and am getting a F250 SuperDuty Crew Cab.
Is there a way I can have the entire frame looked at and fixed here in NJ? Is there a way to check if this thing drives straight? like some certification of straightness or something? Otherwise I am not going to be comfortable driving this thing with my family in it. The Lawsuit says something about an $800 limit for parts and labor? This does not seem like enough. Has anyone else had to have a shop do these repairs? Do I have any other recourse? Has anyone contacted the Lawyers for the Class? Are they helpful?
Sorry for going on but once I started I was almost reliving it and felt compelled to share all the details.
Thanks,
Ray
