WOW! Thanks to the administrators and moderators. I hope this thread works.

My beef is that my SL is apparently in need of tongue reinforcement, but I am 3,000 miles from the WW repair facility. The proposed class action settlement requires all trailers to be returned to the factory, that is preposterous. I haven't had problems yet other than being disappointed with the overall quality of workmanship.

I would love to be able to have my local dealer arrange to do the fix like in a usual recall situation. I really think WW should have stepped up to the plate earlier and do a voluntary recall on the suspect units. I am sure it is less expensive to gusset and reinforce a frame than to rebuild an entire trailer after it twists and comes apart.

beemer - I think you have he recourse to have a local shop do the repairs-

there was something about the 800 bux max and a set dollar amount for labor yada yada yada

Call WW first and ask them what they can do for you.

Absolutely call them but a WW dealer should be able to do the work- he does not have to ship the Trailer back to WW Factory[emoticon]

I've called 2 days in a row now. Haven't heard back yet but I'm sure there busy. I've got my fingers crossed! Very pleased to hear they are willing to repair their trailers! And thank you RV.net and Dave for your handling this in a professional manner. [emoticon]

Good Job!

Invite WW to post their fix. Yeah, there were lawyers involved, but I bet they also have a large influence on the policies at some camping stores and clubs and forums. So what. There is a well known and widely reported problem and you have put out a link to the solution. Or, direct people to start at page 64 on your link to see the solution.

Some trailers have been seriously damaged, some have the potential but have not yet been seriously damaged. If the latter, there is a fix that should cure the issue and prevent damage. Prevention is really important.

Mine is still in the potential stage so I'll do the fix. If WW will cover the costs that is wonderful. Also spent many hours tracking down faulty grounds and fixing them, but that is just part of maintenance. Ditto disassembling the water system to drain and winterize it.

This whole issue is in the same class as other recalls, posted here freely. It just didn't arrive from some federal agency.

Thanks.

FYI:
I contacted the law firm handleing the class action suit in this case and spoke to Cynthia. Even though you do not own a model in this suit you are part of the class because you own a Weekend Warrior trailer. Therefore if you do not opt out you waive your rights to sue WW forever. You must opt out by Jan, 18, 2008. You can download the form at the www.TrailerSettlement.com website. I currently do not have any issues but sure don't want to loose my right if I do have a problem.

So let me get this right. I have a 07 FSW2800. I got papers in the mail and read all 88 pages. I do not see any thing that says FSW only FS. Why am I getting this stuff? I just want to know.

Call the factory (the 909 number) and call the class. Figure out which group you think you belong to. Then ride it out. It's your call.
