The rubber is very good!
The optional 265/75-16E @ 3,415 ea. for a total of 6,830# capacity on the rear axle. 5er Yokohama LT’s @ 3,042# ea for 12,168# capacity on REAL tires!

The manuf axle rating includes the rubber, in fact often the rubber is the rating limit. So unless someone downgrades, you will be okay

Not a Cat Scale, but ODOT road side scal accurate within 50#, scale was about one mile from park we were leaving.

If your truck has an auto, you might want to check into putting the 3rd gen front brakes on the truck, it's about 35% more brakes over the second gen. You will have to change your wheels and tires, but its a very big improvement and not that expensive. I have a 2000 2nd gen with bigger brakes, 19.5 wheels and tires, Allison auto, bigger drive line and more power, pulls great, towing a 16000 lb camper. I have yet to weight the rig. that's next.

Well the 2001 has a PacBrake turbo mounted that works great down hill never need to use the service brakes.
It is a great TV, but we are looking at going down to one vehicle, SO we needed to get something a little new and bigger.

TV 2014 Ram 2500: 8,380 lbs - 5,060 front - 3,320 rear (fueled up + me)
TV + 5er: 5,060 front - 5,020 rear (axle GAWR 6,000 front 6,500 rear)
GVW: 10,080 (GVWR of 10,000) leaves me 80 lbs overweight plus wife and kid ![[emoticon]](http://www.coastresorts.com/sharedcontent/cfb/images/frown.gif "frown")
Trailer 2006 FR Wildcat: 11,120 lbs total - 9,420 axles - 1,700 pin
Trailer dry rating: 9,500 total - 1,300 pin
GCVW: 19,500 lbs
I am happy to find out I am within axle ratings and GVWR fully loaded but not so much that I'm over GVWR (in my mind I thought it was 10,500 lbs). I don't have any safety concerns about the GVWR but worry about possible issues with the law. I would rather have more truck than I need and be under the numbers but this is what I have to work with. Honestly I wouldn't want tow anything heavier with this 2500. I added airbags to soften the bucking but doing it all over I'd opt for the 3500, DRW if towing anything bigger long distances.

After years of camping, I finally weighed my current truck and 5er in my sig.
Truck with full fuel tank.
Steer 5000
Drive 3660
Truck with 5er and full fuel tank
Steer 5000
Drive 6440
Trailer 12180
So I have a pin weight of 2780 (18.5%) and gross trailer of 14960 with 1/2 tank of fresh water. A lot heavier than I thought I was.
Oh, I have run Sailun G rated tires on 5er since I bought it.
