3:55 at 65 in D is 2550 rpm. Almost perfect. 65 in od is 1700 rpm. Nice for cruising unless headwind. Just got around to weighing it after 50,000 miles of towing it. Gets 12mpg average. Always thought it was heavier. Getting weighed gave me more peace of mind.

The weight information will be very helpful for those looking to purchase a new RV. I would like to see if Goodsam, TL or RV Net could create a directory for the large metro areas that lists locations where owners can have their rigs weighed properly. Does anyone know of such a listing?

Just do a web search of "CAT Scales", they are located at majority of truckstops and usually cost $10 or less to weigh at.

I have a Dodge Ram 2500 Mega Cab with a 5.7 Hemi and 3.7 gear(I think) and have been told I could tow from 8100 lbs. to 10,150 lbs. How do I find out what the real truth is? Is there any book or link I can access to find out what I can truly tow. Am in the market to purchase my first 5th wheel and would like to know how I can get one that is not going to burn up my engine or tear out the rear end of the pick up. Any help would be appreciated!!!!!

Go to Dodge.com/towing Lower left input all specs and get answer. EX: 2002 quad cab 5.9 auto Max carry gvw is 8800. That is the max truck weight. 14000 lb is max combo of trailer and truck. The curb wt on that truck is 6200 so subtract 6200 from 8800 and that is what your max pin wt can be. The gear ratio is on a sticker inside glove box.

There is a very helpful website that has most of your answers including an article, Before You Buy That RV, Truck or Other Tow Vehicle.

Congratulations. I'm not sure, but depending on your specific model information, you could be borderline overweight for your truck. Consider reading "Before You Buy" article shown below. Tow safely.

No way...have the same camper. Our loaded pin weight is 1300lbs.

Congrats on the new camper...hope you enjoy it as much as we've enjoyed ours.
