After watching Extreme RVs on television, we decided on an upgrade for our 24 ft TT we now call the kitchen/ living room the 'Salon', and the bedroom the 'Stateroom'.

The upgrade only took a few minutes and added $$$$ to the coach. [emoticon]

Here's how I handle and store my hitch head. I tend to use the cheap and simple method. The "handle" is a 12" nail bent to fit with an old file handle pounded on it. I simply lock the safety chains to the spring bar chains (stored on J hooks) and slip a pad lock in the coupler hole.

Really good way to handle it hohenwald48. I do a similar thing with the spring bar hooks and pad locks to the chains. I also use a J hook to hold up the front end of the sway bar when I am backing the trailer. For safety I use a theft prevention Master Lock on the hitch.

I built this cradle to store the hitch and lift the hitch with a HitchGrip.

So here is one of my winter projects. It's an A-frame bike rack I built from materials I had lying around my shop and some cradles picked up at the local bike shop. I haven't given it a test ride yet so I can't comment on how it's going to work. I fear it may be too bouncy. I was carrying five bikes on my rear rack and they suffered alot of damage due to rubbing against one another. With this rack I can move the two adult bikes to the front and spread the kid bikes out a little more on the rear rack.

This is actually the second rack I built as the first one was very boxy and quite ugly. I went back to the drawing board and came up with this idea. It's basically 3/4" heavy wall conduit bent and welded with a cross bar and some home fabricated mounts. I think I spent approx $23 on it incuding the paint and grade 8 bolts w/ lock nuts.

There was a post yesterday about storing your weight dist bars and I may go back and incorporate something along the line of the "Bar Buddy" to hold them. I like their concept.

This is how the rack mounts to the A-frame.

Any comments would be appreciated. Happy Campn' [emoticon] (If the ice ever melts!!!)

Has this held up? I wouldn't have thought the conduit to hold up to the weight of two bikes. If it holds up, I like it!

What are those strange pointy things hanging down from the bottom of the trailer? Icicles, you say? What are icicles? Boy, haven't seen those since 2008!! North in summer; south in winter. Easiest way to winterize that we've found. :-)

Since I had this trailer I have noticed what seems like a lot of wasted space behind a panel on top of the microwave. $5.96 and a trip to a local Lowes got me the material to make an extra shelf. Easy mod and anyone with a screwdriver could easily do this.

Nice idea! You can also go to your local RV dealer and possibly buy a replacement door as well to put up there. I did that for some drawers I have yet to make under the dinette.
