I hate how you can't see who is behind you when pulling a TT, especially when they are on your tail. To solve this, I installed a wired rear view camera and monitor in my TV.
First I bought a wired camera and monitor along with some extra camera cable from this EBAY Seller.
Then I took a metal bracket and mounted the camera to it and mounted that assembly to the back of the TT. I ran the wire down from the inside of the TT into a storage compartment and down underneath the TT and zip tied it to the frame. Up by the trailer tongue, I wrapped the camera wire in wire loom to protect it and now it is one more thing I connect when I tow. In the TV, I strung the wire up in the trim and also put wire loom on the wire where it comes out of the TV to connect to the TT. I only have the two photos to show for now, but will get more detailed photos up soon.

Switch was $2.99 at Harbor Frieght. Cable costs more than that.
Good thing I don't figure labor into this - then they would actually cost some money!

The Moderator said there was now a category of Mods all by itself. Where can I find it. I would have assummed that it would be up in the sections, but nothing there for modifications.

Thanks to RVSnowbird and Pulsar, I think I can post some pics now. I had to move my spare tire to the TT passthru when I built my rear bike rack. Since it ate up too much space I went with a new plan. A friend acquired a Ford spare tire winch from an old truck and I cleaned it up. welded in some angle irons and now I have:

While I was in the area I added abattery cutoff switch

Hopefully, more to come!

How's the quality on that camera stugpanzer? I modified my navigation radio to have video input on my Suburban. I installed a "keyhole" type camera in my license plate already which is great for hitching up. It came from eBay (looks the same as the one your seller has listed as an option) and the quality is pretty poor.
I want to put one on the back of my trailer as well but I'd like it to be of decent quality so I can use it going down the road and backing up.
One question on your installation... did you have a cabinet or something right behind the camera or did you have to fish it down the wall? I have just the wall in mine and I've been mulling over my options. One thought was to remove the center clearance light and fish the wire down through that opening.
Thanks!

Hi Y'all...
Got a lot to share, but for now I just want to show you one of my little modifications...LOL
I like to lay in bed and use my laptop, or read, and I had to get out of bed to turn the light out....or worse, had to get out of bed to turn the light on to see the thermostat to adjust it in the middle of the night (several times a night as I freeze or fry)....so I added this little nightlight that makes me smile.

I've done a few other things and will post them too.

There has to be another section for MODS that doesn't cover it

The quality is excellent and as an added bonus, the camera also has short range night vision via some IR LED's mounted on the camera.
Yes, I have a cabinet where the camera mounts to the wall. I then brought the wire down the wall in the corner, but I don't like that so I need to figure a better way to fish it down. Other than that, it has been a great addition.
The Ebay seller I got it from is great to deal with. Remember that when you buy it, it comes with one cable. I had him quote me adding an extra cable...one for the TT and one for the TV. It works great when I hook up, I just connect one more thing...very simple. I will try to prepare more detailed photos of the installation and post them soon.
