Bigdually............. Does that thing behind cab make any noise when you are going down the road ???. I have the same thing behind my cab, and on occasion it makes a lot of wind noise. Just wondering how to stop it.

Just got the new Tow Vehicle and I think it's going to do great!

The 2008 Ford Explorer Sport Trac V8 XLT 4X4 has a higher tow rating and a higher fully optioned payload than my previous 2004 Nissan Titan XE Crew Cab Off Road 4X4.

Has 7000 lbs of towing and a base payload of 1400 lbs. After fully optioned, I still have 1220 lbs of payload left. It has a 4.6L V8 with 292 Hp and 300 lbs of torque. Has a 131" wheel base which equals the fullsize Chevy Avalanche and is only 8" short of the normal Crew Cab/Short box fullsize wheelbase.

So far I'm getting better mileage than my previous 2005 4.0L V6 4X4 Nissan Pathfinder and I only have 300 miles on it! I expect 1 to 2 mpg improvement after 3000 miles.

My brother-in-law and sister's tow rig. It has goosneck and 5th wheel. It can tow a very large horse trailer, race car trailer, or 5th wheel camper. It can pretty much tow anything, and even comes with sleeping areas and a full shower and toilet.[emoticon]

That's a pretty one!! I've been drooling on the Ford website lately but will stick with my 02 Sport Trac for now. (It's paid for!!!) I do have a question though. Did you get the 7-pin Class III towing package and if so, does it already have the charge line for the camper battery??

I've been researching trucks for over a year now since I've grown unhappy with the late Pathfinder. I went with this truck because it offers the same payload as many 1/2 ton crew cab 4X4 trucks after it's optioned. So it's beginning low payload isn't really that low since it has a lot of features already that most do not.

Mine has the tow package and the V8. I had to do a dealer search and have them find the truck 300 miles away.

It does have the class III/IV tow package and the 7 pin connector. I would hope it would have the charge line being the 7 pin adds brake controller output, charge line, and backup light signals. I haven't used the charge line yet and probably not for a while.

So far I'm pleased with the mileage, it's bettering the Pathfinder which had a V6. Since I drive 21000 miles/year, mileage was a concern.

With the midsize, I'm getting good payload and mileage and saved roughly $6000 on a crew cab 4WD F150.

Thanks and have a good one.
