transamz9, really nice rig. Just curious, not flaming, but I see a lot of 5ers towed by single axle. What does your sandpiper weigh? (I'm looking at tires and the G rated are really pricey). Happy Trails!

My fiver weighs in right at 14,000# loaded. My rear axle is right on the 6000# number when hooked and loaded. My tires are rated at 6390#. I'm assuming you have factory 18" tires on you F350? If so you should be good for 7280# on you rear tires. I don't know what your loaded rear axle weighs but I would think you could handle most good sized fifth wheels.

2004 Grand Caravan. Not the ideal tow vehicle, but I tow slow and easy.

Day 3 of April trip to TX coast, alternator gave out. Good thing I was 20 miles from father-in-law's RV park. And I drag all my tools with me.

Nope, still have the Xterra. I'm looking at buying a travel trailer in the next year or so and knew I needed a new tow vehicle. The Ram kind of dropped into my lap - it was a deal too good to pass by.
