Sorry to hear about the loss of your Hanna. You were blessed to have her for 16 years. I know it is hard now. I've had to say good bye to six of our beloved pets over the years, and it never gets any easier. But the day will come when you will mostly remember how blessed you were that she shared your life for so very long and made many
wonderful memories that you are thankful for. Take care.

I think it is time....it has been hard on us. We had to make our collie, Dixie go over rainbow bridge July 7, 2011. The date will never leave our minds. She was only just over ten years old. She was a great companion on our ventures in the RV. Hasn't been the same to get out on the road without her and miss her dearly waiting for us to get that rv out of the driveway. My adopted baby Harlee, foster to adoptions Lucy, Gracie, Katie and Peepers miss her. A fantastic collie. Her pic was enter a few years ago. I am, as usual having problems adding her pic today.

I'm so sorry about your beloved Dixie. Losing three beloved companions, we know how it is. Time will heal as they say. Even though you have others, because each one is so loved and so different, they can't make up for her loss. Hang in there, you are not alone.

In 1999, my husband and I were driving down one of our major avenues. Lo and behold, in the middle of the avenue was a little white dog running in the median strip. DH pulled the car over and jumped out, chased her where she ran into a local tavern. He yelled for someone inside to catch her and a guy sitting on a barstool leaned over and scooped her up, then handing her to my husband. We placed an ad in the local paper and at the animal shelter looking for her owner. In the meantime, we took her to our vet to take care of a horrible case of ear mites. A week later, her owner comes by to claim her. When we asked her to reimburse us the vet bill, she said she was going to get rid of her anyway. That's how Missy ended up with us and today 14 years later, was the hardest day of our lives with her. We had to put her down. She was 15 years 7 months old. She began two weeks ago pacing and it escalated this past weekend continuing into the night accompanied with vocalization. Blood work results indicated something going on with her liver and one of the areas it can affect is the brain causing confusion. Her confusion and anxiety as a result was so bad that 5mg of Valium would give her several hours rest, only for her to get up and pace, almost run while whining. It was heartbreaking for us to watch and we did not want her to live her remaining days sedated heavily. She is in a better place now, we know she met Champ, Molly, and Paris at the Rainbow Bridge today at 4:35pm MST and they are now all playing and running free, enjoying one another. The house is now quiet although we have our Maggie and Mica. We will greatly miss her.

Missy, today just before we took her in for her final trip -

How sad for you. I'm not going to tell you she is in a better place, her place was by your side. I lost my heart dog in July, and even though I have a new puppy I still can't look at Hannah's things without tearing up. It does get easier with time, and maybe someday you will allow another to fill that special place.

Thank you so much. I remember telling you how much, from afar, my Missy looked like your Hannah and that she was coming up on that day too and now look - that day has come and gone and I feel like crawling under my blanket and staying there all day, but I have to push on.

I felt the same way. I must admit, this new pup has made that hole much more bearable. He is such a lovable little guy. He will be a perfect camping pal.

I am so happy for you to have found a new traveling companion. Hannah is there with you along the way. I wanted to share this article from Susan Stolz with you. It will bring you comfort, as it did me.
