I don't remember sounds of 4-wheelers when we were there in summer of '09 (June/July). We loved Deep Creek! Watching the eagles and the tractors launching boats off the beach was great fun!

My friend is at deep creek at this time. Not nice because of snow rain and heavy winds.

Lake Pleasant Regional Park, taken in early December 2011.
This is a Maricopa County park just northwest of the Phoenix metro area.
Many sites have water and electric. This park also offers dry camping along the shoreline.
Sites and loops are paved with a fire ring, picnic table and shade ramada.
The Roadrunner Campground sits on a hill by the lake in a Sonoran Desert setting.
Our site, #23 Roadrunner Campground, has a nice water view.

nandj - you always have nice photos and descriptions. Thanks!
Veebyes - good to know that the CG at Mesa Verde can accommodate fifth wheels. We always check out the National Park CG's but missed this one. Thanks for the picture.

If you don't have a reservation be sure to get there early so that a B or C camper does not grab the last of the not that many long sites.

We were hosts there in 08 and the 4 wheelers were loud and plentiful. Things were quieter the past year - at least that is what I heard.

This is site #26 at Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake (Orlando). This is a small campground, but we liked the spacing between sites, especially if you are on the outside of the curves in the roadway.
This is looking towards our closest neighbor on the patio side of the site:
![[image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v516/JJB/IMG00188-20111227-0941.jpg)
This next pic shows our location relative to the curve in the road. The road leading through the campground is quite tight in spots for big rigs, but passable if you use a heaping teaspoon of caution. The sites are not particularly level. I saw a few rigs with wheels raised off the ground like that Allegro Bus in the picture.

This next pic is just a gratuitous shot of our rig. :-)
You can see the lake behind our site.

Each site has 30 and 50 amp, but not all have sewer, and there is no cable. We were able to bring in 22 OTA channels however. IMHO, the best sites do not have sewer connections.
As a final note, anyone who goes to Orlando during the holidays needs to have their head examined. My appointment is Tuesday.
