Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park
On a whim we visited this park this past July since its only a couple of hours from home....we reserved site #12 but moved to #14 only because we liked it better....besides, we were the only ones there...had the the whole place to ourselves on 56,000 ac....great park, very clean, 30 amp & water...

I have camped at Stone Mountain twice. Once alone on an overnighter, and this last trip I was with a large group of friends with lots of kids. Both times I felt extremely safe.
This is a large resort, with lots of amenities and fun!! I didn't actually venture into the surrounding areas in Atlanta, so don't know about that.
