Ok... I am going to call my dealer tomorrow. They were supposed to flip them when it was built. The tires I bought are for my truck. I have 285 75 18 on there... I got some 265 70 18 to replace the taller tires.

If you haven't mounted the new tires yet...you might want to hold off until after the flip your axels. You may not need to switch to lower profile tires.

So what is an acceptable weight difference on the axles? Front axle is at 4540lbs and the rear is 5260lbs. With my rear having 720 lbs more that the front is that overloading it to much? They are 7000# axles. My 5th wheel is already 12ft 8in tall as it sits. So I am a little concerned about more height. Sorry to keep bugging people for info. I am new to the RV scene and I don't know who to ask about weight to axle ratios.

Finally, after 6 months we got to introduce the truck to the trailer. The Ram tows the 5er effortlessly - it only rides a little smoother. And the first weekend in the camper was 'uneventful'. So far we're pleased with the rig.

Tire rating compared to load. Your height will not change the highest point will be above the hitch. Your suspension travel is more limited as you are now.

It "MAY" make it a little higher . .in his pic, the vent shroud is directly ahead of the axles . and the AC is right above, or directly behind the axles.. it really depends . .

Cummins12V98, unfortunately his height will changes as the AC is located over the axles. That said 13'-6" is standard max height on public highways.
Brute48, do the axle flip and see where you land. Axle flips are good for the diameter of the axle plus the thickness of the spring pack.

Lot's of talk about level and nose-up in this thread so I thought I would chime in.
This is my 13 Ram that was 60" to the top of the Tailgate. The Cardinal was 62" when level. (big problem) I ended up taking it to a professional axle shop. They lifted the fiver an additional 5 inches by removing the axles and welding a 5 inch tube frame parallel to the original frame (Very sturdy). I have been driving with this setup for 3 years now and here is what you may need to consider if you are pondering raising your rig.
* It rides it rides like a dream. No issues with high winds or rocking of any sort.
* It's 13.7"ish at the AC so it's extremely important to know your top height at the AC before you lift so you don't end up donating an AC to a bridge. I have an excellent phone app that keeps me informed of all bridge heights in the US. (Gas stations are still a concern so I only use truck stops)
* You will need to remove and lower your leveling jacks. (This is easy as they simply unbolt and adjust can be re-mounted in a lower position. The base/foot of the leveling jacks should be directly in line with the center hub of your wheels.
* I also replaced my three step entry with 4 steps. (Love that too)
* I think It looks a bit funny sitting so high but the setup works quite well.
* MAKE SURE YOU GET A PRO WELDING SHOP THAT CAN AXLES ON PERFECTLY STRAIGHT AND ALIGNED. Truck trailer axle alignment shops are best.
* Lastly...Heart medication for traffic lights that look too low);-)
Happy RV'ing all!!!

I have to ask, what do you have on the back of the 5th wheel?
