Murphy kept us up all night last night. She was panting and barking. She kept wanting to go outside but all she did was pee. She has been eating well but hasn't had a BM in over 24 hours. She finally settled down around 2:30am and we get up at 5am so I am really dragging this morning. She seemed to feel OK this morning but she still wouldn't do her business. I am super busy today at work and I don't have time to take her to the vet. I sure hope she does her business when we get home tonight. I can't take her on this trip like this and I don't want to leave her with my mom in this condition. Between my work and Murphy it's been very trying to make this trip. Hopefully she will be better this afternoon.

I went home at lunch and tried to get Murphy to do her business but no luck. I walked her down the street and back and still no luck. She was happy to see me and enjoyed her walk.

My mom has offered to watch her while we are gone. Murphy loves my mom and I know mom will take good care of her. I just hate to burden my mom with Murphy. My mom fell about a year ago and cracked a couple of vertebrae in her back. She is in a lot of discomfort some days. Murphy usually just sleeps all day but she can also be a handful. She is, after all, a Jack Russell and they have minds of their own.

I will make a decision tomorrow morning on what to do about Murphy. I just want her to feel better. She is old and I know her days are numbered but most days she acts like she is 2 years ago. I guess as we get older the bad days start catching up to the good days.

It's been a beautiful day. Sue and I went to Apple Valley Grill for lunch. It was great. This morning we had power problems, turned out to be our power cord. I had an extra so it really wasn't a problem.

Its going to be cold tonight, so we will keep inside and turn the heat on. We are enjoying our stay and look forward to tomorrow.

Murphy Pooped!!!

We got home from work and Murphy took a big one. So far, she seems her old self.

I think I am going to leave Murphy with my mom on this trip. Murphy loves her grandma and my mom always spoils Murphy. As much as I feel bad about leaving her, it will make the trip much easier for us and if Murphy does get sick, mom can take her to the vet if needed.

Now that the Murphy saga is over, it looks like I will now be trying to outrun a tropical storm while traveling through Georgia. Somehow I will make it to Sevierville!
