I'm still struggling to make the bed actual fit a human spine. The long crack when the sofa is down, makes a divot even with an air mattress I can not tolerate for long. I went & got a special triangular cut of foam that might work as a sleeping shim. I was unable to find the previous Cheese1 thread on his bed solution. Will be pursuing further solutions, next camp trip comes up in 3 weeks. |

Since this is our first year with our 213, we are going to live with the sofa/dinette for another year. But, we found that just unfolding the sofa without taking down the dinette, and then using our REI self-inflating camping mats on top makes for a really comfortable bed. During a trip, we slightly deflate the mattresses and fold them behind the coach seats, but they can fully deflate and roll up more compactly than regular foam. More comfortable, too We will probably do some kind of rebuild next year. Dennis Siemsen Cresco, Iowa 2007 Holiday Rambler Augusta 213 B+ |

After our rebuild, my wife found sleeping on the old sofa bottom with a quilted polyester filled featherbed thingy was great. I was always good with the flat pads from the dinette, but I was able to stretch!

Just checking in to "register" our 2007 R-Vision TL. We are first time owners of any type of camper or motorhome. We have long had the desire to purchase "something" to travel with our dogs. Currently we have a greyhound and a small mutt. We considered purchasing a camper but then we would have to sell a car and buy a tow vehicle. Didn't want to trade my 4 cyl in for a monster truck. DH decided he did not want to tow a trailer. Next we looked at C class and one or two A class MH's. Concern about cost of any work on an A plus the size of most scared us away from them. Next the C. They were our main focus until we came across the used TL. It is 29' with 3 slides. When the dining area and sofa area are out we have a huge (relatively speaking) floor space in the living room. The area above the cab has all the electronics. We like the smaller 8 cyl Chevy motor, hope it is fuel friendlier than the V10 Ford. DH is 6'4" and we like the extra leg room for the driver. It seems to be a good size for novices driving. The one thing we lose in this size is storage space. It seems like a lot less than the Class C's we viewed but we seem to find a place for everything we need. \ We plan to take it out for a couple of days each month to get used to driving and setting it up. We will take some longer trips later in he year, working our way up to a month or more on the road. We are not handy - so we will not be contributing to the conversations about interior or exterior changes. It is all we can do is mount the bike rack over the spare tire on the back. ![]() So, Howdy! Looking forward to new adventures and new friends. |

Welcome! Tho' I no longer have my 213, I still value being a member of this group, as you will as well! Find some campgrounds within maybe 2 hours of your home and take a 2-3 day trip there. You will become vets in no time. Read this entire thread when you have time. The info and experiences here is invaluable. We bought our 213 for the same reasons you did.:0

charming - Welcome to the RV.net forums and the long running thread for B+ motorhomes (primarily Trail-Lite). Hope you have the same good experience that almost 100% of us have had with our Trail-Lites. From your description, I am guessing your Model is a 293TS, is 29'-4" long, with a 199" wheelbase, Gross Combined Weight Rating of 17,600 lbs, and a 57 gallon fuel tank. I fully understand the space issue in the drivers seat. I am 6'-3" and really did not like the Ford cab interior space. When talking about the ability to store things, you are much safer with not having too much room as you can easily overload your unit. The 293TS has a maximum weight rating of 14,050 lbs (GVWR).
