There was a turtletop VW also-"Adventurewagen" and wouldn't (dating myself here)a Transvan qualify? Some were sin-bins but some had galleys and bathrooms..

More forensic research into the genesis of B+ - which is proving to be quite interesting. A 1985 Chevy Turtle Top Terra Van 1997 Coachman Starflyte ![]() ![]() ![]() I have a hunch that Turtle Top did both of the above rigs. About Starflyte and Carrigo, they used to appear on the same ad page; Dynamax maybe bought them and later split them? Starflytes were priced close to Chinooks - never cheap. On a similar note, for those who pay attention to my ramblings, and for a big prize, who makes the fiberglass shell for the Leisure Travel Serenity II rigs like this one?

The only draw back, as far as I am concerned, is the sleeping arrangements in a B plus. We tried using it the way you're suppose too but hated that climbing in and out over one another too get up during the night. NOW the husband sleeps on the sofa part. I sleep on the dinning table/seat area. I am still trying too find a mattress too fit that area as it is shorter than the sofa area. Finally we have found a place that makes Lazy Boy chairs. We think we can order an 8 inch thick piece of foam too make our own mattress so too speak. I do hope that works....

Granted, when the jacknife is folded to meet the dinette/bed to form a gigantic king-size bed, you gotta crawl out of bed on your hands and knees (and not pi$$ off any of the dogs!). Your mattress should work fine. |

jeannie, check out the photos of my modifications to our B+. If you go back to December 08 in this thread you should find them and the reference to the gallery I put on another website. We had the same gripes you have and the changes are just great to live with now. Burl, I think Carrigo was once part of Dynamax' family but was phased out. AFAIK, Phoenix has been on it's own. Cheeze, if I could find two pics - one of each - in the same side profile, I think we would see double. You didn't answer your test question in my last post w/ pics. |

I guess our B+ is or maybe isn't fitting into the description. It has it's own bedroom at the back, a full walk around both sides. But the dinette laid down is hardly a bed for anyone. It's 40" wide by 66" long. Mike 2012 Winnebago Impulse Silver 26QP 2005 16.6 Double Eagle 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK previously Snowbird Campers, Triple E Motorhome and Fifth Wheel |
