Thanks, I was facing a hard decision. I had just posted this thread
Hard Decision to Make... when he passed away on his own.

It happens to all of us sooner or later.

Take Care,
Jeff

Jeff,

I read your thread and what followed, it was hard to read. Dogs/Cats give us so much and really ask for nothing in return but some food and a "pat on the head". They (as you know) give us so much more. My wife and I always get more than a little upset when we hear people say, "Its' just a dog (or cat)" We that love our pets know it's much more than that, it's a bond between us..

Take care,

Jim

The first dog pictured in this thread, way back on page 1, went to heaven a week ago today. On Valentine's Day. Guess God needed another little dogger.

She'd been a terrible abuse case, brutalized so badly that it took her one whole year to wag her little stump of a tail the first time. And though she was never a very outgoing little girl, she finally seemed to learn that people weren't going to hurt her anymore and she came to trust us to a degree. She was a delight to walk in campgrounds across the country because she brought a smile to everyone's face. It was a rare day that at least one person didn't stop to ask what kind of dog she was (or to simply remark, "Those ears!"). We never really knew her breed, so made up the "Amazing Australian Koala Dog" name, because she looked a bit like a little koala bear.

It's amazing that such a little dog can leave such a big hole in your life.

Cathy
