This is Holly, our 6 year old mini Schnauzer. She was adopted from Schnauzer Love Rescue 2 years ago. It's such a delight to have her in our lives!

It breaks my heart when Rocky does this, and he'll sit there for hours watching. In his pre-RV life he lived on a lake in the boonies where he could go in/out whenever he wanted, catch mice and birds, and sleep inside and warm if he wished. I leash walk him but it's a mighty poor substitute. Don't you wonder sometimes what they're thinking? Does he hate me?

All cats do this, especially when they are stalking. He may be daydreaming now, but he is still occupied, his mind alert.

I don't 'own' cats now, but as a child I learned a certain amount of 'cat' and still find I can communicate by times.

My neighbor Frisky, who is getting up there, even in cat years, is still my garden's chief pest control officer. At times when I'm out there I see Frisky very much on the prowl. I don't want him catching birds, but I'm very happy with his efforts for moles and mice. To date, my pea crop has been well protected.

As a reward to Frisky and other feline friends, I plant catnip. There is quite a bit of this around the edges of my garden after 22 years here.
