We're hopefully out enjoying our rigs. We haven't used ours yet, unfortunately, so,nothing broke or weird to ask about. How's yours? '73 Concord 20' Class A w/Dodge 440 - see profile for photo |

I was curious if anyone here had put their class C across the scales? How much over the GVW were you? I'm at 10k with a 9k GVW WITH nothing special in the unit and not cram packed. Something interesting I learned while working at an RV dealership is that the camper only has to be below GVW when it leaves the assembly line. They don't have to leave room for the additional weight of water tanks and provisions.

We haven't put ours on the scales. I would be curious, however, because we've added two gas tanks underneath. Ours only came with one 35 gallon tank, so we added another 35 gallon and a 27 gallon. Much better for any amount of driving, though it does tend to get tail-heavy. We pull from the back tank first, then the middle tank and the front tank last to help improve the handling as soon as possible. |

Gosh Leeann, thats a 400.00 fillup, don't you wish it was back at 40 cents a gallon , real gasoline instead of this ethanol blend, Ethyl, not super..all that bad lead? Have found a local Farmers Coop here in West Texas that sells real gasoline non-ethanol..They have to procure somewhere in New Mexico..I guess the farmers need it..ben

Hell, I'd be happy with $1/gal. The old Thermoquad isn't a fan of ethanol crap. The bf made a modification that helps, but it's still annoyed by it. Near one boat race we usually go to in PA is a guy that sells real gas. We try to have essentially empty tanks when we get there so we can fill up on the good stuff. The bf's brother is a marine mechanic and he told us to start using star-tron. It's the stuff they're using in boats now because it actually works to avoid phase separation and other ethanol problems. I just bought a bottle last week, so we'll see how it works in the RV. |
