Do you think some removed the breakers when they took the generator out,?? Sounds like that switch is to an electric fuel pump that was to the generator, the box with two breakers in it I would guess that one breaker is for the generator one the other is for shore power, Will the wall sockets work when the RV is on shore power,?? And the Video was made just for your needs Just trying to help buddy.

Mortland, In my '79 there are two breakers too. One is for the air conditioner and the other is for everything else. My fuse panel is right on the front of the converter. Have you tried following the wires from the house battery? You can also check to see if they have voltage using your multimeter. |

Sorry all, ive been sick with a cold and trying to earn some extra money, i keep posting ads for help on our local craigslist offering computer and smart phone support and help but some jerk keeps flagging them for deletion so his ads are the only ones.. Also trying to sell our xbox 360 for some extra cash. Plus my sons birthday was last monday and ive been trying to figure this rv out. Wow the last thing i would have imagined is thinking anyone would be concerned.... Thats really awesome and heart warming. Thank You All! Well yesterday i made a video of the rv with my phone and im planning to upload it to YouTube after midnight tonight so it wont count agenst my mothers 1 gig bandwidth limit. Bewteen 12am-12pm its unlimited. Its just a quick video of what it looks like and im hoping you all can help. I took both the batteries into Napa when i got my brakes yesterday and they told me they were both shot. I took one back to walmart and was able to argue myself into a brand new Evermaxx truck battery with out a recipet.. I told them regaurdless if i had or hadent purchased it myself it is the responsibilty of the manufacture to make a reliable product that does what it says and not break down like a piece of junk. It was less than a year old. The deep cycle battery was a diffrent story. it was made by interstate batteries but i cant really find anyone around here that sells them so for now im SOL.. I traced the wires from the battery each part of the wire that connects to the post has two wires one set goes to where the generator would have been and goes into that little on/off switch box the other set goes to the right to where the fresh water tanks can be seen and seems to connect to two screw posts, that connect to what i belive is a water pump. And then two more wires come off that connection and run into the floor and go uptowards the cab. The power convertor has wires that run into one of the plugins next to the converter and breaker box and one that runs up past the battery. I cant rightly rember right now, and my son is sleeping so i dont wana wake the little monster up right now... The poor kid was in my mothers house while i was asleep with his momma and slipped on one of those little little golden years disney books and whacked his right eye on the coffee table. Its pretty swollen and blue right now. I went and found a little heater in the dumpster the other day and reconnected the element that had come loose in it and we are using it as a heater now. Its not really warm but maybe 80 90 degree but it has a fan and it seems to make it a little warmer in here. The other :"heater" we have it just like a satellite dish with a heating element wrapped around it. All it does is make it warm like a foot from it and has no fan. I dont like using it because it really dosent work ( i can still see my breath really heavy if im five or so feet from it) and im afraid of my son waking up in the night and sticking something in it or himself and getting burned. He already has a bit of a cold and a swollen eye i wouldnt want matters worse!!.. Anywho. Im going to attempt to upload part of that video now, and the rest after midnight MST (Mountian Time) and ill post it here. Thanks for caring guys and talk to you soon |

Mortland-- Are there any truck electric shops near you... the ones that rewind starters, generators, etc for industrial trucks. They'll have a deep-cycle for you. My deep-cycle is a: Mega-Tron Marine-RV deep cycle 12V (yeah... I did have to find that receipt) that I bought new for $64 at A&L Truck Electric. I get "deals" on vehicle parts, so count on paying more. An anti-grunge on battery terminals thing is 1 can of Pepsi poured liberally over the terminals. Watch that ick /crap /junk foam and go away (and people drink that sh*t). Check the terminals themselves. On exposed copper wire, get after it with electrical tape. Last, coat the terminals with a dollop of Vaseline. Yes, boring old petroleum jelly. Last Pt II, insulate the bottoms & sides of your batts with cardboard or newspaper. I know you don't have tons of money (what is money? I faintly remember having some of that once), so buying good tools --and there is NO other kind-- is difficult. Go to yard sales. Estate sales, not so much, but craigslist is a good place for bargains. No, Harbor Freight and Chicago Tool are junk, crap, icky cast Chinese stuff that a 4-yr could break. Craftsman, Bonney, Snap-On, MAC --look for those brands, they will outlive your little boy. |

They may not match your unit, but they will give you an idea how things are wired. There are coach wiring diagrams here: http://www.bdub.net/manuals/ Along with various component manuals. '73 Concord 20' Class A w/Dodge 440 - see profile for photo |

Check Lowes over the next six to eight weeks for tools. They usually put some of their better Kobalt tools on sale, up to 60% off. I just scored a 20 piece Kobalt 1/4 drive SAE and metric socket set, regularly $25.00, for $10.00 for my grandson for Christmas. (They also gave me a 10% military discount so my cost was $9.00) IMHO, Kobalt is better than (current) Craftsman quality, ranking immediately behind Snap-On and Mac Tools. Dielectric grease is better than vaseline for preventing corrosion on electrical connections. Permatex dielectric grease is one example. Permatex battery cleaner if the battery is really cruddy. After that, or it the battery is already fairly clean, Permatex battery protector & sealer. Self-fusing silicon tape (http://www.amazon.com/F4-Tape-Self-fusing-Silicone-Black/dp/B002LA2258 as well as other sources.) is my first choice for taping wire connections. 1970 Explorer Class A on a 1969 Dodge M300 chassis with 318 cu. in.
