And just a note about Walmart batteries...many of them won't make it through the warranty period (lots of posts on all kinds of vehicle forums). See, Walmart tells the battery manufacturer this is what I want to pay, the battery manufacturer says sure, if I make this cheaper and this cheaper and leave this out....

I use a charger similar to this: Automatic 3-stage charger You can get these at Wal-Mart and many other places. I am going to charge it on 2 amps overnight. Is this alright? I just do not want to over charge it. See Picture In My Profile I have a 1989 Dodge XPLORER RV Class B - Purchased 10/15/10 IN CASH Fiance' purchased a Class C 2002 Dynamax Carri-go on 5/1/15 IN CASH We've got the best of both worlds |

OK, the cabin battery charged over night at 2 amps. I connected my inverter to it and it powered on with me plugging in a radio to it. I am going to take it for a "spin". If this goes well, I am taking it to a camping/birthday party at a friends farm tonight. It is only 7 miles away. Wish me luck. Thanks again to the Ladies and Gents who helped out. I learned alot. |

Leeann stated your most likely problem. And, it's easy to fix. Do what she says. Leeann wrote: Is there a battery isolator between the motor battery and house battery? If there isn't, or if it has failed, one battery will draw down the other. And yes, having a loose terminal will kill it as well. Travco did the same thing to me when it was first home. Cleaned the isolators (or connectors) w/ a brash brush, applied die-electric grease, bought new (non-Wal-Mart) batteries and not a problem since. Neighbor kid stealing the coach battery doesn't count... Real good advice is replace /repair one thing at a time so you know exactly what the failure was for next time. There's always a "next time." In other Travco news, Paramount is making a movie in Weirton, WVa. Why in God's name is anyone's guess... But it's set in 1979, so they want vehicles from '65-'79. Yep, the Travco will be a "featured extra" -and earn twice what I do on a set- in a Hollywood movie. Is that outrageous or what. Yeah, I'm still doing the extra-thing; I have 4 more days on "Abduction," the Taylor Lautner movie. He's a nice kid. But I'll bet he didn't put in 9 hrs before his lunch, then go back for 2 more scenes. Sheesh. |

Cool! Will the Travco's paycheck pay for some of the work on her?

The MH went 20 miles today with no problem. I started about 4 times with no problem. Going to the Birthday/camping party tonight! Thanks again,

Great news! Glad you are getting to have some fun. Please don't forget about the batteries though. Make sure you have a system to keep them both charged at all times so you can continue to have fun without having battery problems. Oh, and don't forget to check the water level in them at least every couple of months. |
